It doesn't take size out of the equation IN THE RING, just conceptually in comparing ACCOMPLISHMENT. It wasn't invented as a way of justifying fighting guys 3 weights smaller than you because they happened to be great at THAT weight. Only as a way of gauging fighters relative to their own weights. But I agree, not ranking Floyd top 10 given how week the rest of the field is is taking this line of thinking a couple steps too far....

Just as Sly & REED are entitled to argue that Ugo is wrong. All would be well if people took these differences less fucking personally and stopped sniping at each other. Ive been here 5 years and the closest thing to a personal dispute I've been in was a spat with Free Ike which lasted all of a day and a half before I got bored out my mind and moved on (other than what I regard as an unfortunate crossed wire incident with REED over my blase & stupid wording of something on a touchy subject). Yet there seems to be a new personal feud over the silliest shit every time I turn around. Ugo had an opinion, REED & Sly disagree, can't we just keep it civil? Maybe this is just what happens to men when you take the risk of a fist fight out the equation keeping our vaginal-drama glands in check? They become WOMEN aka interpersonal drama-whores. :dunno:

IMHO the thing that ruins discussions more than anything is to make them personal matters. Subjects argue, not people, is among the first rules of debating. Yet, there is no thread were somebody does not come up with "you started this thread because your agenda is this and that" and "you say that because you are faggotly in love to this and that fighter". That kind of discussion leads nowhere and becomes very tiresome. Disagreeing about matters is different than disagreeing because of who is speaking

Good list.....though Marquez' placement really depends on where he plans to continue his career. TBH, at Lightweight I think he's lower top 10, and at Junior welter I wouldn't even rank him.

 

It's not highjacking anything. The site covers both sports, so there should be 2 P4P lists.

And yes, I list Aldo over Mousasi. Mike Brown was on everyone's top 10 list and Aldo just rolled through him with ease. He's looked as good as any fighter out there his last few fights.

I love Mousasi and think he's gonna be real good for a long time, but I just don't think any of his wins rank up their with Aldo's win over Brown. Of course, with a potential Henderson fight down the line, that can change.

Until Shown OTHERWISE, REED Still Thinks JM Marquez is THE BEST 135 Pounder in the World...REED Doesn't See Valero, Soto, Guzman, Funeka, Katsidis or ANY of those Guys Beating JMM @ 135....For what it's Worth, REED Thinks JMM Would Beat what's Left of Ricky Hatton @ 140 Too...But Things would Get DICEY for him After that...

Based on how he's looked at 135 I think he's significantly declined there and has a nasty loss in his future there. I think Hatton would beat him at 140 if he has anything left. And I would pick Khan, Bradley & Alexander over him without hesitation. Just personal opinion on that matter I think the rest of your list looks spot on.

What is even more tiresome to me is wasting time discussing boxing with folks who clearly have some sort of agenda or bias for or against particular fighters. And don't try to come off like you are above it all...I seem to recall you giving it to Kid Dynamite as much as anyone for his endless nuthugging and overrating of Tyson.

 

I am not above it; I have done it myself and probably will in future. Still, I do not think it is a good way to discuss. In some cases it is difficult to help, as anyone who read Kid Dynamite's post surely knows, but a better solution would be to ignore threads that seem to have no purpose of actually discussing but instead drive an agenda
