ooool The freaks come out about 2:50 I know these events were primarily in Europe, but did anyone here ever partake in one similar back in the day?
Yep to both of the above. The point Im trying to make I guess, is, even though its a 1990s version of what young people did in the 1960s, it all seems a bit one-dimensional and vaccuous in the 90s. More escapism than enjoyment.
My guess is these people don't have half the character the hippies had in the 60's. Vaccuous is the perfect word to describe them.
I'm inclined to agree... say what you will about the hippies and whatever they failed or succeeded in doing but there's no denying plenty of them sincerely thought they were doing something meaningful, there was the sense of a legitimate quest for meaning, answers whatever... not a lot of that going on with the ravers
Strange isn't it? I counted six women in the first 4 mins but I know what you mean. An arena with about 10,000 'youths', all off their tits, probably into some drug-dealing, petty crime and about 1% of the crowd is female.
