Pavlik does a good job making up for his less than spectacular hand-speed by keeping his punches short and throwing in combination. He's also good at parrying shots; better than most give him credit for. Especially when you consider that he doesn't compromise himself offensively, hardly at all, when he goes on defense. Also, like Tito, he seems to have good instincts about distance - where he can be, and where he wants to be with respect to his opponents position. And you will see him throw short left hooks and long ones. Also, he understands the power of the jab. Unlike Taylor, who uses the jab to do damage (and largely to buy time), Pavlik understands that the jab's biggest strength is its ability to set up big shots - shots that otherwise couldn't get through.
I don't know how anyone can dislike either guy in this fight. They both seem to be real good guys. Taylor really handled his loss like a man. I like Taylor to beat on Pavlik like he did early and this time finish him. I thought he looked great early on in that fight and will look the same the entire fight this time. I hate the fact that this is non-title and at a catch weight.
You picking Taylor guarantees that Pavlik will smoke him again. I'm even MORE confident in my pick now.
Afuckinmen to this! I been saying that shit for years! Taylor is so overrated as an athlete its not even funny. RJ, Zab, Floyd, Shane..... THOSE guys are great athletes! They have blazing handspeed, fast feet, good coordination, and great reflexes(in thier primes anyway). Like you said all that Taylor has going for him is above average handspeed. His feet are pretty slow, and he's uncoordinated, and his reflexes suck. He aint no goddamn great athlete!
some here act as if Pavlik is some unstoppable machine...but i remember him getting hurt/wobble/did a Cotto vs. Corley dance..and then drop in his fight with Taylor...... but at the end PAVLIK by KO 7...same outcome...whatever Taylor do..he will get KO..if he tries to holdback and box..he gets KO'ed..if he comes out swinging look for the early KO...he will get Ko'ed....
:crafty: ahh haaa,..? is that so,..liking Pavlik sure comes with an establishment first, :crafty: perhaps your on my side, and are just wearing that symbolic wagon like silicon tits, but I'm fine, there's no such thing as a white sellout, welcome back Reed :bears: as I say to all Fraud groupies, the truth, shall set you free.
You are right on point as usual brother REED Pavlik is the better fighter... you know, the simple ONE-TWO is very very effective when people do it well and he does.
I think the main attribute Pavlick has in there is how relax he is. Even when he was hurt and knocked down, he never seemed to panick and did what he had to do. You look at Taylor in the opposite corner and you have a nervous fighter who never looks at ease in the ring. I learned a long time ago to pick the relaxed fighter.
So what do you think was the reason he did so well against Hopkins and Wright who both are much more technically sound boxers? Being a good athlete is more than being flashy
Kauki is.....which basically means Taylor is going to get brutalized even more than he was in the first fight.....
Yep Taylor already showed he can mess up Pavlik big time. The first fight COULD have been stopped in the 2nd round and it would probably be evenly split on whether or not it was a good stoppage...
It would have been a very bad stoppage. At what point would it have been ok to stop the fight in the second round? The only KD Pavlik was up and on steady legs before the ref even finished getting Taylor to a neutral corner. By the time he turned back to Pavlik he was up and ready to go. He got tagged again and was wobbly but did the right thing and held on. I don't see any point in that round where it would have been ok to stop it. Pavlik was fine by the end of the round.
dsimon writes: Taylor is very strong. Reed is right imo. Truth is if Taylor's fights had been scored properly he could have conceviably lost all 3 of those fights, that has to be considered, especially because of the last round of the first fight.
Dsimon writes: :: :: Taylor, Kauki and Hexy can all be likable together when it happens. I think Hex and Kauki in their persistant wrongness makes them very likable posters.
Pavlik should beat TAylor. But still Taylor put Pavlik in queer street which is overlook because he couldn't finish him. Funny thing is Taylor managed to do that to Pavlik the most dangerous fighter he has fought while he coulldn't do that to the smaller fighters he was facing before. :dunno: Even if he got Kod Taylor he knows Pavlik didn't dominate the fight and has to know he could hurt Pavlik. I haven't seen Pavlik that much but in the few fights I've seen of him he never came close to being that hurt. Hell even he admits he made alot of mistakes. All i'm saying is let's not forget Taylor had his moments in there and it will be interesting to see if he can do something with that or if it won't matter.
Funny pic:: but back to the fight, JT will win this fight! Nothing against Pavlik, he is a strong fighter but my predictions remains intact! JT by UD.:bears: Like TO says, get your popcorn ready.
Does Anybody Else Find it FUNNY that Taylor is BORROWING Pavlik's Training Techniques N an Effort to BEAT Pavlik???:dunno: REED::
