    Musically?
You're up there but unfortunately you don't even acknowledge whole genres from 1967 onwards.

I can guess: the one on the boat w/sailors that defined her as a gay icon?
The duet with Sonny Bono that you and your wife did at your wedding?
Or the auto-tuned-to-fuck one, also a fwaggit anthem?

    She's a piece of shit.

Metallica and ACDC come to mind. Some catchy tunes but overall I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to them.

I "get" Metallica and I understand the appeal, they're just not my cup of tea. ACDC are just wank.

    I fuckin despise Metallica now.
Used to think they were okay then they started getting all ´psychological´ and too big for their own heads.

Metallica have never appealed to me and Lars Ulrich is not the most talented drummer in the world. He doesn't have that spark for me and he's pretty sloppy too.

Bon Scott's voice just pisses me off whenever I hear it. It goes right through me and hits a nerve. Horrible vocal style.

Do you remember that album where he turned off his snare drum for the whole thing and it sounded like an abortion hitting the floor? Horrible shit.

Aye, AC/DC are toilet. I used to like metallica as a teenager so i certainly 'get them' but that sort of preposterous scowling perma-rage is best left in teenagehood....or in late soviet russia where it also makes perfect sense-

Worse than that is his execution... poor timekeeper, sloppy technique in his fills ... there's literally thousands of guys in Metallica cover bands that could play circles around him

This is why heavy metal is so fucking daft... at some point you should become cool enough to think it's stupid

Lead guy from smashing pumpkins cannot read music. But he makes millions and people loved his music. I really admire his talent and creativity. Great musician.

Most musicians in pop/rock/country/blues/R&B and a number of them in jazz cannot read music ... I cannot read music either

The only genre where you have to be able to read (and more importantly, sight-read) is classical music which is understandable given the format

The notion that being unable to read music precludes one from being a successful musician or even a truly great musician is an ignorant one

There's literally nothing unusual about the Smashing Pumpkins (who suck harder than a desperate whore, BTW) guy being unable to read music

Fuck, yeah, Smashing Pumpkins is a great example for this thread. People seem to love them, and I've never been able to understand why.

Nope. Only very very slowly. I have absolute pitch so if you handed me the first movement of Beethoven's fifth, for example with no title on the page, I'd know from the first four notes what it was because I know the notes on the staff so I'd clearly see G G G as a triplet followed by a long E flat ... what else starts that way?

Part of the reason I never developed the ability to read is because I never needed it (because of the absolute pitch) ... But also, I've always struggled with symbols in a given language... I can handle arithmetic in my head just fine ... calculating expenses, tips, etc but show me something like algebra and I fall apart... struggled terribly with it in high school ... just scraped by ... reading music is a lot like that ... symbols meaning things ... through years of playing, you learn what all of the lingo means anyway but that's a different animal than quickly reading it and understanding...

You prove my initial point... you can read music but what good has it done you? You converse on the subject in meaningless generalities... you can't even spot an obviously poorly intonated, sloppily played violin (Scarlett Rivera) ... reading music isn't the same as being a musician or having musical ability. I'd guess probably 90% of the artists in your album collection can't read music

A clammy-handed gawk dork expressing his impotent suburbanite rage at the world for shoving him into a locker

Remember seeing them perform on SNL... couldn't even play their easy music well... sounded like shit

A guy I know got a Billy Corgan strat

I asked him if it helps you play badly

What's weird is he's a crazed conservative like Doub ... always raging about triggered this and that, making fun of the whining millennial voodoo dolls in his imagination... yet he loves this band

Has there ever been a more relentlessly self-pitying, whiny bitch of a man than Billy Corgan???? It's the guy's whole schtick!

It's like a guy that loves The Cure complaining about guys who suffer from clinical depression
