If a fighter is unable to continue with 2 seconds left, yes, that fighter is stopped. Taylor was CLEARLY ABLE TO CONTINUE. He got up. He looked at the ref. He nodded. He looked at his corner. He was clearly able to continue, especially for another 2 fucking seconds.

Once again, look at the clock. Literally within the confines of one second (06:-05) Steele asks the fighter if he's OK and then waves off the fight. ALL WITHIN ONE SECOND. How is that normal?? Have you ever seen that done before by any referee, in any fight?

Once the fighter gets up (and Taylor easily beat the count), the referee asks if he's OK and is supposed to stop the fight to PROTECT THE FIGHTER. Does anyone believe Taylor needed protection here?

And again, if Steele gives Taylor an extra whole 2 seconds to respond, would there ever have been any controversy about the ending?

Someone in the b'scene thread pointed out that if Steele had done the same thing to Chavez, he wouldn't have made it out of the state alive. It's absolutely true that this would have been an even bigger controversy if the roles were reversed, simply because of who Chavez was.
