If you're referring to my using 'site' in place of 'cite,' using one homonym in place of another isn't indicative of ignorance, it's something people do all the time out of absentmindedness. Making an absentminded error, a typo, or using internet license (eg, all lowercase or lack of punctuation) isn't even remotely similar to the way you massacre the English language in every single post you make.

"Fucked up" is one thing, having to read posts written by someone who constantly demonstrates a 3rd grade level of literacy is another. It's just annoying.

Not as annoying as dealing with someone who is losing a debate and begins to change the subject to spelling and grammar in order to seem "superior"

And violates Jake Law in the process.

Notice how I didn't cease debating with cdogg about Chavez/Steele, only you. Do you really believe that's because you're more intelligent and better at articulating your points than cdogg?

The debate turned into whether you were a moron or not, though there's really not much room for argument there. Your ability (or lack thereof) to communicate coherently in your native tongue certainly is indicative of your intelligence.

Actually you did stop debating cdogg as well. You still havent responded to his last post about this topic. Instead you are trying to change the subject and focus all of your attention on stupid me. You can change the subject all you want. Taylor wasnt Robbed. It was a clean victory. And deep down you know it.

But please, keep focusing on insignificant me. I love the attention. :clapagain:

just kiss and make up already, you're ruining threads with your arguing. At least keep it civil and not pages full of grammar policing and name calling.

Please spell check this for me guys, thanks.

I agree z. Im trying to keep it going. We have never gotten along, so there is no making up to do. Im down with dropping it however. That is of course if my poor grammar and his spelling mistakes allow this.

How long do you think a fighter should have to respond before the referee waves off the fight? Do you think it's appropriate for the referee to start asking the fighter if he's ok, then start waving off the fight, all within ONE SECOND? Do you think it's just a huge coincidence that Steele seemed to be in an awful hurry to stop the fight, and there were less than 10 seconds left in the fight at that point? Do you think Taylor, given how he was like "WTF?" after the fight was called, was really not in a condition to continue.. for another 5 seconds?

One of the judges had their card going in favor of Chavez. What do you think that means? Is it really implausible that the ref was in DKP's pocket along with the judge?

Steele's motivation for making the call is relevant, even if you try to insist it's not - I can't imagine any honest referee calling that fight. The justification for it was created in retrospect to fit Richard Steele's actions and to further lionize Chavez, when in reality if the fight had been called, it would have never occurred to any of the same people defending Steele's decision to complain that he hadn't stopped the fight. As I said, there would've been the usual "if it'd been 15 rounds.." but NOBODY would have said Steele should have stopped that fight, because except as a retroactive justification, the action makes 0 sense and is completely counterintuitive.

The problem with bringing up motivation is that the burden of proof then lies on you. There is no way we can know for certain if Steele was paid off or not. You have a theory that you can't prove. It may make sense to you but that doesn't make it fact.

The stoppage appeared fair to me. Taylor is at fault for not clearly indicating that he wanted to continue. All boxers know what they must do after a knockdown to show they can continue.

what you have to ask yourself here is whether steele would have been so quick to stop that bout if it was a badly hurt but comfortably ahead on the cards chavez in the corner getting up from a knockdown with a few seconds left.

to answer Neil, that is irrelevant

    Steele's motivation is irrelevant

if he IRONICALLY made the right call while attempting to do something underhanded, it doesn't change the call being the CORRECT ONE

I really don't see how it's the correct call when in all likelyhood Chavez wouldn't have even had time to land a punch before the bell rang and Taylor won the fight comfortably

the time is irrelevant as well

what, those two seconds are different than any other couple of seconds in a fight? I don't care if it's the first round, the 6th round or the 12th round... guys doesn't even LOOK at you much less respond, the right thing to do is stop the fight

Some people dont understand that the time thing doesnt matter. If Steele were to just say: "oh fuck there are just 5 seconds left" That cheats Chavez. That fight is 3 minutes long. This isnt like a instructed ending class early. This is a man's career.

    Objection your honor!

The witness clearly cannot be asked to testify as to what defendant would do can he?

    Neil is right.

If it was Chavez in that situation you best fucking believe Steel would have been WELL aware there were only 2 seconds left, and even if Chavez could barely stand up, he wouldn't have stopped the fight.

I understand what cdogg and Godfather are saying, I do, about the time being irrelevant etc. I get that argument.

But let's pretend it was at 1:30 of the 12th round, I think it's still a bullshit stoppage.

Steel was like "Are you OK are you OK?" then after like 0.5 seconds just stops the fight

And it's not like Taylor was doing a Judah, he looked hurt and exhausted, but OK enough to defend himself, or at least give him the chance to.

The argument about the round being a full 3 minutes and it not mattering what point we're in in the round has already been addressed repeatedly.

    Neil, it doesn't matter!!!

Again, Steele's motivation does not matter

The only thing that matters is if the call is correct

    The call was correct

As I have said before, even if Steele was doing the right thing IRONICALLY, the end result is the same: the right call was made

As for what he would or wouldn't do if you reverse the fighters, how can I possibly know that? In order to even speculate, I would have to already agree with you guys that the stoppage was a miscarriage of justice... Since I am a million miles away from that viewpoint, how can I possibly answer a hypothetical like that?

You haven't answered this question - do you really think that less than one second is a reasonable amount of time to give a fighter to respond, let alone in those circumstances?

I blame Taylor for looking away instead of responding.
