Seriously, Chavez doesn't have one advantage. You could maybe give him chin at a push, but even then I'm not sure. He'd get blitzed by Hearns too, and there's no fucking way he's going the distance with Hagler let alone making it a close fight.

Duran is better in every way, he's a bit bigger, he's faster, he's stronger, he can punch harder, he's a better boxer, he has a better jab. He has significantly better defense too, as he has better defense than any attacking fighter in history.

I can't see anything but a 1 sided fight in Duran's favour, against a guy who doesn't hold one advantage over him, and is smaller to boot.

That's why I liken it to Floyd Vs Marquez. Sure Marquez is excellent in his own right, but he was up against a guy who was similiar-ish stylistically, but better in pretty much every way.

 

Duran would beat Chavez. I've NEVER heard anybody dispute that. Duran was in fact a better fighter than Chavez. But to suggest it'd be a wipe out is absurd. Chavez would hold his own, and win rounds, but in the end he'd lose clearly, simply because Duran was far quicker, and overall just more talented/skilled.

Pac on the other hand wouldn't see the final bell against Duran. Duran would lay his stupid ass out.

 

Duran vs. Chavez will be a WAR for 6-8 rounds...after that Duran start running away with it, while Chavez retreat into the ropes...by rounds 12-12-14 Chavez would be taking an insane amount of punishment only his chin and cojones keep him up....If Chavez goes down he won't stay down...the REF or his corner will have to save him..

 

Nobody stops a prime Julio at 135... NOBODY...

But Duran would beat him in a good, competitive fight. Julio would be the best fighter he ever encountered at lightweight. Better than Esteban Dejesus. And he gave Duran hell in those first 2 fights.

Chavez destroys Pacquiao, though. He walks him down, bullies him into the ropes, and wears him down to the body. Pac either gets stopped late, or takes a pummeling en route to a UD loss on the cards... Chavez ain't Marquez...

I'd be surprised if Chavez won more than 1 round. Duran would batter him.

Duran would fucking destroy Marquez in 8 rounds max...probably less....and Chavez will do the same.

 

If we're talking about a 15 rounder, Duran would win 10-5. Or best case scenario for Chavez, 9-6. In a 12 rounder, Duran wins 8-4ish. Hell, perhaps even 9-3. No way Chavez wins JUST one round though. This isn't fucking Brandon Rios we're talking about here.
