a year ago and before, i would have said Mayweather

now I am not so sure

I'd pick the active fighter that is currently destroying all these so called bums the semi retired fighter wouldn't fight.

I'm just as confident of a Mayweather victory today as I was a year ago. Pacquiao is just as good now as I realized when he comprehensively defeated De La Hoya. His wins over Hatton, Cotto, Clottey and Margarito went as expected...no surprises there. De La Hoya was the true test...after that he was always going to beat those fellas with ease.

It's a matter of styles. Mayweather will hunt him down behind a high guard and counter punch him to death. Mayweather has proven that he can adjust to any style.

 

But just as Manny Pac has NEVER Faced the "Slick, Counterpunching, African American" Style, Floyd has NEVER Faced Anyone Quite like Manny Pac...Pac will B the QUICKEST Fighter of Hand & Foot that Floyd has EVER Faced (INCLUDING Zab Judah)...He's Southpaw, has a HIGH Workrate, 2 Fisted Power & UNpredictability...

1 of Floyd's Most Underrated Qualities is his Ability to ADJUST (as U Noted)...But he May Not Get the Chance to Adjust Against Pac...Imagine if Pac had Hurt Floyd, as Sugar Shane Did???...

This fight is intriguing as hell now.

Mayweather is older now, has fought twice in the last 3 years and would be coming of yet another big layoff if the fight happens. Meanwhile Pacquiao has kept himself active fighting solid opposition at 150, 145 and the rest of the catch up divisions.

 

I don't think the activity level will affect Mayweather too much. Not only does Floyd stay in good shape between fights, but he's much more cerebral in the ring than 95% of all of the other fighters out there.
