Chris did his best, he didn't quit or get destroyed like so many folks around boxing sites said he would.
    Congratulations to Diaconu.

Nope, you're right, Henry is a tough guy. He just doesn't have the skill or experience at this time to challenge for a world title.

Yes, great chin and conditioning. He missed a lot and ate enough to go down late, but he kept pushing forward and judging by the scorecards won the last two rounds.

    It was an interesting fight.

Both fighters were fairly strong and tough, both had a similar workrate, and neither fighter was overly skilled or crafty. They were both quite basic in their attack patterns, and defense etc.

What won it for Diaconu was a speed advantage, and moreover punching technique. He just landed flush more often through crisper, straighter, more accurate punches.

A poster on another forum claims Diaconu went through the ropes in the 11th or 12th round, which should have been a knockdown but was ruled a slip. Can someone confirm this?

All I know is the Diaconu odds went up a bit late in the fight, which means Henry must have done something, while the stream was off.

he did went through the rope in the 12th but it wasn't a kd, more of a slip/push. Still, the fight was pretty close, I missed round 9-10 and I had the fight even with Diaconu taking 1-2-3-4-8, in Romania, is was quite obvious he was gonna get the nod. Still, Henry is very limited, I don't see what Karl saw in him that made him believe he'd be the next king of the division, he's a tough guy but he's quite limited, but he's got a big heart and that's waht count the most.

Ok know it all, let me clue you in on something that is fact: Chris Henry was fired and sent home after two days of sparring with Antonio Tarver when he was preparing for the Hopkins fight because of the hurt that Chris put on him, and Tarver quit.
You have a Dolphins avatar and you speak of idiotic?
They are pathetic, the worst football team in decades since the old Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
There are many college football teams that could handle the Dolphins quite easily.

The difference is, I don't go around blowing off my big mouth about the Dolphins beating the shit out of the Patriots or the Giants.

Idiotic would be if I made those comments. You know idiotic comments like Chris Henry ripping Dawson to shreds..

And I would suggest you keep your spewing of expert opinion to boxing, because football certainly ain't your forte if you seriously think there are MANY college teams that could beat the Dolphins or any NFL team.

In other words, confine your moronic observations to one sport at a time.

Your posts stink as well as your crummy team stinks.
The Dolphins are perhaps the WORST professional (if you can call them that) football team in history.
Seeing them falling all over one another, getting blown out by huge touchdown passes in a wide open secondary each and every Sunday is comic relief to everyone!

When it really comes down to it, I doubt there are many guys around who know more about boxing or football than Trplsec.

Trplsec is alright, but he admits he is more of an MMA fan. He doesn't know that much about boxing.

Karl is IMO one of the most knowledgeable guys here in boxing

What? I am a brand new MMA fan. On the other hand, I've been a huge fan of boxing for better than 35 years. Opinions are opinions and they are seldom changed, so think what you will. I will absolutely never try to convince everyone that I know more than they do about any sport. I'll leave that to Karl and his "you never laced em' up" bullshit.

But what doesn't change, whether you know boxing or not, is that Karl's comments about Chris Henry destroying Dawson were driven by his support for Henry and absolutely belied his supposed boxing 'expertise'.

What is completely laughable is that Karl's only retort was to slam the Miami Dolphins, because I have Dan Marino in my avatar. That really tells you all you need to know about Karl.

I told you that you should stick to spewing nonsense about boxing. The Fins lost 7 games by 3 points or less including a 3 point loss to the Super Bowl Champion NY Giants.

The worst football team in the history of the NFL lost by 3 points to the team that won the Championship and beat the supposed best team in NFL History (Patriots).

I'm still waiting for you to name some college teams that could beat the Dolphins.

Of course, but you have to learn not to take Karl's comments seriously I guess. I am sure even karl himself doesn't, or didn't believe that Henry would beat Dawson. He was just hyping his boy.

And I thought you were more of an MMA fan because you recently said you prefer it. Traitor.
