:crafty: ^^^ Eye for an eye Irishman,.. eye for an eye. But if Im going to think about the fight seriously,.. I think he may trouble Wlad,.. but wont connect as much as Wlad does,.. I think certain groupies and the American press will score entire rounds for Chambers because of the odd flashy counter-punch,.. but Wlad will land much more during the course of the fight,.. even if you tally up equated partially blocked shots as 'half scoring' punches the way Povetkin prevailed. It'll be really interesting if Wlad can stop Chambers,... I reckon it'll be very very impressive if he does.
How can you watch boxing for years on end and still believe that heavyweight physiques means that much? They don't. Never have. Perhaps never will. Weight matters and sometimes that is correlated to physique. Stamina matters and sometimes it is correlated. But the fact is, so many guys who 'look' worse are better than the body beautiful types that there isn't an exception the rule because there IS NO RULE.
The focus on Haye in particular has been somewhat questionable, so many threads across different forums I've seen someone post a large picture of Haye, shiny, ripped and sweating with his pants drawn 'teasingly' low, for admiration and importance with a "what we want, what we need as a heavyweight" chorus,.. I do suspect a little bit of 'fetish' in the odd boxing fan or two, and there's nothing wrong with that,.. it's just that's it's denied and taboo to admit it apparently. :crafty:
There are some exceptions, but how many truly elite level HW's have entered the ring with pound after pound of excess body fat? MTF :dunno:
i suppose we should list who is 'truly elite' first? Here's just a list of non-body beautiful types who have won a belt that i can think of on the fly... sanders, toney, tubbs, valuev, bowe,
How about we amend it to "Heavyweight with shit physiques and absolutely no power"....................are shit. Chris Byrd as blown up as he was, still looked better then Chambers. This fight will be shit. :shit:
What if some of us simply won't care about seeing fighters abs and instead concentrate on the fight itself. Last time out Chambers beat Dimitrenko who had clearly the hotter body
Of those, only Bowe has any genuine claim to have been an 'elite' HW by any realistic measure. Even he is debatable... So, lets play things safe and go for the pretty much consensus collection of 'elite' HW's on the last sixty years or so. Not beltholders or contenders and the like, but the guys who feature prominantly in most people's 'All Time Heavies' List MTF :dunno:
In those pics, Frazier and Holmes don't look too ripped or muscular, either. Not saying that will give Chambers more of a chance... ::
Rico Rizzo will tell you what the trend is...<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/a4ms5ktJFhc&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/a4ms5ktJFhc&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
I think what he's trying to say is he looks like he's not in as good shape. Weight has nothing to do with it. He looks softer. He's showing up for the payday.
They don't look out of shape, but at least Holmes looks a bit soft. And still, it didn't hurt his fighting at all
Hmmm,..maybe,... but Chambers is durable,..and can be a bit tricky,.. it's worth the watch,.. I expect Wlad to hug him though,..and lean down on him whenever Chambers gets close,.. it's an illegal tactic ofcourse,.. but illegal tactics suit particular fighters of particular contradictory groupies so,.. that's apparently the best way to justify it.
I don't think Chambers is even as good as Calvin Brock ( yes I know he won a decision over a disintereste Chambers ). He could be much better but he's so unambitious and safety first, I doubt he'll throw more than 30 punhes a round vs Wlad
Can't argue with that Azazel chap,..it's definitely a possibility,.. the King-pin fight openned my eyes at how impressively full of shit fighters can be before they get in the ring.
There is something disconcerting about how easily Wlad marks up when tagged by clean, persistent shots. I guess those cheekbones work wonders when picking up exotic sluts down at Das Disco but in a prizefight they are as useful as tits on a prize-bull. I expect Wlad to win but if he does win I would not be surprised if he allowed it to go further than was actually necessary......I dont want to see another 11 rounds of this slap-the-glove stuff.
It'd be much better if the typical European ....kinda.....sorta...... considered body punching?... for once?... but it appears to be as unthinkable as a united commission implementation of advanced and random drug testing.
