The Divergent Saga: Insurgent easily top the domestic box office with $54 million which is a little off from the numbers the studio was expecting after its main star Shaileen Woodley became very prominent with the blockbuster hit 'The Fault in Our Stars'. But 'Insurgent' opening numbers are almost identical to those of 'Divergent' a film which finished its run with $288 million worldwide which isn't bad at all. The fact that this sequel had to compete with Disney's Cinderella which came strong in the second spot with $34.6 million might have been the deciding factor in 'Insurgent' lower than expected numbers (when the first film opened it practically had no other film to compete with).

Liam Neeson's Run All Night is showing runner's fatigue in its second week with just $5.1 million in the third spot. The action film has grossed so far $19.7 million. Bombing in its debut in the fourth place is Sean Penn's actioner The Gunman with a weak $5 million. Its producers had predicted an opening of $10 million or more so this is very disappointing to say the least. In the fifth spot Kingsman: The Secret Service continues to quietly building its reputation as the sleeper blockbuster of the season. Its $4.6 million brings its current domestic total to $114 million and $295 million worldwide.

Finally in the sixth spot the Faith Based melodrama Do You Believe? debuted with $4million which many critics immediately point out is a much lower debut than the other Faith oriented films from last year. But what these critics fail to point out is that this film had such a micro budget it practically had no advertising campaign, so despite of those obstacles a $4 million debut can be considered a solid one.

I saw Run All Night last week. It was ok. Not rewatchable, but just decent and entertaining enough that it's worth viewing once.

The Gunman is getting pretty bad reviews. We might see Penn in a movie for another 10 years.

I guess at this point, Denzel is the ONLY old man in Hollywood who can still play a badass and top the Box Office each time.
