I said this before the fight, and that's I'm not really sure what would compel anyone to pick Dzinziruk over Martinez.

Dzinziruk is a solid world class fighter. Martinez is a special fighter and #3 P4P. Big difference in class.

 

incidentally the first half of that fight was more entertaining than jones jr - harding, and many other jones jr bouts.

 

As it turns out, 5'10 former welterweight Martinez is a beast at middleweight.

 

martinez is the best fighter in the world right now. i said as much before this bout but his resume and ability puts him above pacquiao and mayweather jr right now. could be he's getting old and wont be as durable in his next few fights seeing as how his legs were acting odd when he got hit clean by a guy not known as a banger

Although, the announcers stated they want to see Bute-Martinez, but to me, that's just a step too far. He's already a class above his best weight, 154...168 would be a huge hurdle.

I wouldn't worry about that. He never looked hurt. Could be he was just feeling a bit jittery, and the Ukrainian is at least a fairly sharp, accurate puncher.

I think Dzindzuruk fought well, he was just out-classed.

Couple of points about the refereeing- the first Low-Blow that Sergei landed, it was called and Martinez got time off.

Martinez was told by the ref to not retaliate, but he did, in Hopkins style, on the blindside of the ref.

He also failed to stay in the neutral corner during the final counts

Nice to see Dzindzuruk give it a go and cut the champion and back him up just a little bit.

 

Lee is no cash cow in Ireland anyhow, he's not far off starring on the undercard of willie bang casey fights. Unlike irish, I like Lee as a sports personality, and he looks straight out of those grainy vhs seventies mw fights...but dude is absurdly easy to hit and he always looks exhausted after three minutes,a relaxed and accurate martinez would crush him...but that is the logical fight for him, he may as well take a title fight rather than wait and get picked off in an eliminator

 

Agreed on the last part. He might as well go out in a title fight and make cash. For a talented amateur he is so easy to hit. He thinks he has big power but I don't. Martinez would do him in 2-3 rounds. I think Lee isn't training properly or has hooker issues or something.
