Jesus Christ here is some serious Khan hating going on. That dude went the distance with punchers like Harris and Corrales @ Lightweight! and was never close to being stopped. He also hasn't shown any sign that his toughness or ability to survive has decreased. Now Khan gives him the clearest defeat of his career and it was a shitty performance?? :dunno:

You guys need to slow the fuck down seriously because some fighters just ain't there to get knocked out and if St. Gay doesn't come to fight it's not Khan's fault.

 

i'm not saying khan should have knocked him out. i'm saying that khan looked sloppy, got hit with dumb punches again and again, and literally shoved st clair anytime he got in trouble.

really though, watching the evangelical british coverage just makes you hate him.

Seriously bud, the way ITV go on about Khan really, REALLY makes people want to see him KTFO. His performance last night was certainly competent, but was it 'Vintage' or 'Perfection' as the commentators tried to convince us last night? :dunno:

When someone is being paid to tell people what is happening and they are BLATANTLY talking balls, you are going to create resentment.

Bottom line, IMO, is that if you are telling the watching public (most of whom will NOT be hardcore boxing fans) that they are watching 'the next Sugar Ray Leanard', people will criticize when you do not get a performance befitting the hype.

For me, it is nothing to do with hating Amir, and it is probably not even be his fault, but he is the ONLY British dude I wouldn't mind seeing lose, just so I could see Jim friggin' Rosenthal's face.

I don't doubt his talent and POTENTIAL, and I never said that his performance was shitty- he won clearly and without taking more than 15 or so shots, but my main beef was with St Clair, who fought like a guy who knew Khan could never knock him out, so he might has well stand there for the full twelve, not get hit and take what would have been a decent paycheck.

I agree they make him out to be the new Ali or something which is pretty annoying. Thing is St. Claire is still a fight killer and by no means shot or some shit so I agree his performance was competent.

And for Ortho - he got hit with dumb shots?? Like how many?? 4?? ::

Newsflash - it's boxing u get hit and Khan isn't a defensive wizard so he will get hit a lot more than that. But that's cool everybody gets hit.

This remains the one major worry for me- that goddamn low left hand he still has. At the level Khan is at now, it doesn't matter too much, but ALL of his opponents know about it and are targeting it.

I really think that St Clair's plan last night was to play 'peek-a-boo' all night and throw nothing bar the right cross as Amir dropped his left hand.

It didn't work, because Gairy isn't good enough to land flush and with enough power, but once Khan steps up, someone will end up tagging him. He HAS to learn to keep that left hand higher...
