Mike makes a good point, in MMA, guy's like Jake Shield or Moussassi has no chance to get a title shot ( let's be honest, SF title ain't worth much unless it's Fedor at hw ) unless they basically sign a life contract, giveing a bunch of rights, to the UFC. I much prefer the boxing system in that instance.

I have alway's said, that multiple champ per division isn't the problem ( well, 4 is too much but 2 or 3 is acceptable imo ), the problem is that their is too many weight class. It's bullshit to have a different weight class for a mere 5lbs difference. The talent pool would be far less diluted if we'd only have about 8-10 weight classes. Being in the top10 would actually mean something and it would pretty much clear the underserving mandantory problem. I'm no expert in their rules but I know that basically, if a sanctionning body has a vacant spot in his top10, the first fighter in the top10 to win vs another top10 ranked fighter takes the vacant spot ( if it's higher of course ). The problem now is that you can pretty much alway's find a absolute gimme in any fo the big4 top10. It wouldn't be the case if you'd basically cut in half the number of weight divisions.

Imagine if you got your ass kicked in a street fight and used for excuse that the other guy was bigger than you when he's 5lbs more than you. It would be ridiculous. Unfortunuatle, that the type of ridiculousness we have been taught to accept in boxing.

He's somewhat right, since UFC100, the UFC hasn't been doing so hot, they comped more tickets thant they sold for UFC106 and Couture-Nogueira did awful sales in Portland

What numbers did you quote man. UFC is a private company that don't release it's PPV numbers. People close to the situation say there high selling PPV's are bs. There ticket sales are down thats a fact, they can't hide that. Sure they had there highest ratings on TUF this season with their youtube merchandise Kimbo. Now that show loses credibility with it's Kimbo return outro every episode since then to desperately get viewers.
