Imagine Mayweather beats Pacquiao and they both retire immediately afterwards for good.

    Who rates higher?

We were discussing who had the best resume. If wins 10 years ago count, then losses count, too. And, last I looked, they "counted" him winning the flyweight title 10 years ago. So they need to count him getting knocked out and losing it, too.

If Mayweather had gotten knocked out by Manfredy after Floyd beat Gernaro Hernandez, I think you guys would still "count" it as a loss.

    I'm not sure.

I'd tend to agree but I don't think over time this would be the consensus. It's clear that Pacquiao's level of competition was tougher, however they do have similar (I put that loosely) achievements, and if you add a win over him and an undefeated record, it almost tilts it in Floyd's favour.

Wow, I didn't realise Dubblechin was this big of a moron/troll/Pacquiao hater.

It's a good thing he doesn't really post anymore.

Even Floyd's small handful of fans on this forum would concede Pacquiao has a better resumé, even if they think Floyd is a better fighter.

I'm not a troll/moron or hater. I'm not even a Floyd fan. But a guy asked who had the better resume, and Floyd does.

I think Pacqauio and Mayweather are equals. I think they should split their purse when they do sign to fight. I think Pacquaio is far more exciting. But, if we're being honest, Floyd has beaten the better fighters to this point.

The ENTIRETY of Manny's Career MUST B Included if we're Having a "GOAT" Discussion...INCLUDING the KO Losses...REED Loooooooooves Manny Pac, but he's Starting to Get the Duran Treatment & it's NOT a Good Thing....

Guys PRAISE Duran for BEATING Leonard, Moore & Barkley & Fighting TOUGH w/Hagler, yet those Same Guys Want to IGNORE the RE w/Leonard, the MASSACRE Against Hearns & the Losses to Benitez, Laing & the Sort...

    Can't Have it BOTH Ways...

You beat me to it Reed.

The other thing I have to add is that Pacquiao has questionable wins against Juan Manuel Marquez. He also lost to Morales. People say Pacquiao hadn't developed. So what. Morales was shot when he fought Pacquiao the other two times. Just look at this last fight before his rematch with Pacquiao. Nothing was working.

Now let's add to the fact that DLH was fighting at a horrible weight for him, and they forced Cotto to drop 2lbs--which means little. David Diaz? I bet big money Stinger KO's Diaz in 3. Biggest wins are against Barrera and now Cotto. And I think Jaws stated it correctly when he said Cotto was pretty much done at this point.

So I rank Manny is a great fighter possibly in the top 15 maybe. I think a win over Mayweather puts him in the top 10 easily. A loss doesn't hurt him in anyway.

Unlike Floyd, Manny didn't have an extensive amateur career, so his early pro fights were his boxing education, he lost a couple, big deal, they prepared him for getting where he is today.

Cotto and MAB may have been elite. Everyone else on your elite list was at one time elite, or Manny lost to or should have lost to.

    Top Tier??

    your Top Tier = Junk

How many of Manny's opponents since his big win against MAB have been younger than him and by how many months??

for the idiots disecting Pacquiao's career and losses as a boy, let me ask.

What happens if we disect Duran's resume the same way? What happens if we disect Armstrong's resume the same way?

Besides Duran, Pacquiao has the best resume ever IMO, and his showings against his opponents have been unlike anything anyone else has done.

All the people who picked Cotto by KO have come out to discredit Pacquiao some more. When will you faggots just fess up to disliking pacquiao, and not knowing shit about boxing.

If losing isn't a big deal, DLH's resume shits on PAc's and he should be considered the GOAT:lol:

let me just say this, cause I dont have the energy or time to debunk every stupid fucking thing I've heard in this thread.

I'm Duran's biggest fan. There is no legitimate argument to say he's clearly got a better career than Pac. There is also no way to say Duran's performances against his elite opponents was anywhere near what pacquiao's doing.

Pacquiao moved up to 135/140/147 because he had cleaned out the lower divisions and there were fights to be had at higher weights.

If we get to say Duran was a lightweight who went up and beat WW and MW's to prove his greatness, then Manny is a featherweight beating up on guys at 140/147.

Manny has cleaned up his wildness and made himself into a complete fighter. The stuff Pryor gets credit for doing in terms of how he fights, thats what Pacquiao is doing, except its against elite opponents time and time again.

I wonder again what the haters will say if Pacquiao beats Mayweather.

Pacquiao is not a welterweight. He is however the greatest fighter since Leonard/Duran.

I don't know if he's the GOAT, but the little fucker is something special. The dude comes to fight and brings it. Also I'm glad Cotto didn't quit. I'm glad the referee stopped the fight. Way to go out like a warrior. I also want to say Cotto in the past won like a champion and last night he lost like a champion. I'll Holla 5000

Duran's best ELITE opponents (Leonard) is in a level wayyy above Pacquiao best ELITE opponent....of course if Pacquiao is to defeat Mayweather that would take him into the TOP 5 ALL TIME......Mayweather is the best Elite fighter today..other than Pacquiao and IMO similar to Leonard skill wise...

Losses as a boy? Dude he lost to an aging Morales. Should have a loss to an aging Marquez. Was he a boy then?

Your a fanboy, plain and simple. I agree Manny is great etc... But best ever? He will probably lose to freakin Floyd, has lost to old Morales and most think lost to Marquez atleast once.

Is Manny even a better fighter than Marquez? He's lost more rounds to him in the 24 that they have fought. Hmm.

Your calling people faggots, idiots, and telling people they don't know shit about boxing, yet you are the only one who thinks he's already the best ever.

Freakin Bama doesn't think that!!!!!!!!!!!! That should give you a hint to who the real dumbass is.

perhaps pacquiao has a better resume, but he's never been better than floyd imo.

    at 130, 135, 140 or 147, i think floyd would've beaten him 10 out of 10.

floyd didn't look too great in his last fight vs. marquez so i give pac a decent chance of winning, but at their best (whether it's at 130 or whatever), i think mayweather is flat out better.

it doesn't make sense to say who's naturally bigger considering the success manny had at higher weights than where floyd had started.

it's not like pacquiao was greater at 118 or 126 than he is now.

but yea, i'm sure folks will shit on floyd for even fighting pacquiao should he win.

You just hate Pacquiao, for whatever reason, you even admit it.

At 130, Floyd was probably better. Right now, Pacquiao is better. Pacman's improved more than Floyd.
