    Look who is talking!!!!! :atu:

One thing which is beyond dispute....Vitali seems to have an answer for the vast vast majority of styles he faced.

Steve, do you hate Ted Bundy more than you hate the Klitschkos???

Oh, I am sure you mean it. Its not like you have tourettes or anything.

Ted Bundy and Vitali would be some fucking team. I don't know which of them scared polite society more.

Does Canada have a heavyweight champ? That Shane Sutcliffe fella still around? How would Vitali do against Chuvalo?

    Nothing.

Its a simple mathematical exercise, a bit of basic, subtraction, as it were.

Do, as they say in America....do the fast maths.

Compubox just did a write up of Vitali's fight statistics against heavyweight averages,.. that ugly technique of his might not attract white guys, but it sure could swipe out the cancers from a few paces should you so desire. :crafty:

    In-joke failed.

But it's nice to hear of Vitali beating the rainbow fission out of this Polish horseback light-infantry,..

:crafty: ...But on the subject,..I would like one of Vitali's opponents to pop him the question regarding testing next,..I didn't much like his reaction to the Povetkin request,.. Wlad was happy to comply,... Vitali though...rather resentful... how about it I say.

they have both done absolutely everything they can in the heavyweight division there is to do, problem is everyone agrees the competition isnt that great

so without other great fighters for them to fight, i dont guess they can be all time greats unless

No, he wasn't. Lewis dropped a much smaller Briggs but couldn't KO him. Another 10 seconds in the 7th round and Vitali is taking Briggs out. Briggs got his face broken and was left concussed. Despite being 10lbs heavier than the man doing the beating. A full 40lbs heavier than when Lewis fought him. Lewis beat a younger Briggs, Vitali beat a tougher Briggs.

Never underestimate the effect of steroids on the ability to suck it up. We know Briggs was on steroids as Margaret Goodman, who know decides what is a good fight and what is not a good fight, told us so in Ring magazine.

Irish, Briggs was also a decade younger and far more useful when Lennox stopped him... you are hung up on Brigg's size without making mention of the fact that he was old and completely irrelevant as a fighter

    I don't think so.

Vitaly has lost to the 2 best fighters he fought, and while dominant, his resume is beyond pathetic.

And Wlad is too vulnerable and has too many bad defeat, and his resume is pretty thin also.

Vitali's resume is better than "Genuine World Superstar" Amir Khan.

If it is, it isn't by much.

Let's not forget Amir has 20-odd less fights than Klitschko

Amir has been spread thin like the filling in an M&S sandwich by a guy that just lost to somebody called "Dudey".

Anyone who thinks Vitali has a "Pathetic" resume need do nothing more than question why such a pathetic resume is in fact superior to that of a "genuine world superstar"

    Who he also beat...

You could do this silly triangle thing with anyone, Wlad got sparked by a semi-pro golfer who lost to Nate friggin Tubbs. You know as well as I do, that these abberations can happen. It's part of the game.

The thing is, you're attributing this "genuine world superstar" to us here when none of us have said such a thing. Is Khan a genuine world superstar? Probably not on the level of Mayweather or Pacquiao but he's certainly getting there. He is a superstar in Britain of course, there is no question his profile is growing in America due to the people who happen to back him, as well as being part of a FOTY. Not to mention the fact he is getting recognition everytime Pacquiao fights due to their sparring, being the 2nd best guy in the gym, 24-7 etc. Global superstar? Not yet, but getting there. So this quote you keep throwing out there from Boxing Monthly isn't completely off the mark (although the Judah fight wasn't the fight to make him a Global Superstar).

The advantage Khan has however, is that he can move up to get bigger fights if he runs out of opposition at 140. The Klitschko's don't have that luxury, they are stuck where they are. I don't hold that against them and give them leeway when it comes to these dissections of their resume. I think they are both great fighters, Vitali moreso than Wlad, and would pick them to beat most of the guys people pick to beat them to make themselves feel better in Mythical Match-ups. I just don't see where the Khan comparison comes in though? You have one guy who is a couple of fights away from retirement and another who has been a champion for all of, what? Two years? I don't see the connection.

I can't speak for America as I am unaware of the profiles brothers Klit have over there, but they can definitely both be classified as "superstars" over here after the Haye fight which raised both their profiles significantly.

I don't think he is quite a "global superstar" yet, Cdogg, but there can be no doubt his profile has risen significantly worldwide over the past year and a half
