Yeah, but it's a slow drip.

I think people are being overly critical of Bradley's performance. For one thing, lets not forget he jumped up a weight class to fight a bigger and stronger guy yet people are criticizing his lack of power. Abregu was bigger and longer than Bradley so it stands to reason Bradley would get hit a bit. Still Bradley pretty much dominated the fight and the most impressive thing IMO was how much he switched up his styles. One minute he's aggressive, the next he's counter punching. I think Bradley is one of the smartest most adaptable fighters fighting today and probably only Floyd is above him in that aspect. The ring smarts is where I think he has the advantage over Alexander and I also think his will to win and confidence is stronger too.

Weight lifting do build up punching power, the problem is that you may build up too much muscle and get up higher in weight ( where your punch become less effective ). I've seen the before/after of a guy on roids, his punch was much bigger in the after ( is weight too thought ).

Lifting heavier weights don't add to punching power. Building raw muscle does not aid punching power. There is no steroid on Earth which aids punching power.

There is no opinion, only fact. Will someone step forward & finger the enhancer which produces an impact on punching?

Perhaps, but being a faster, more explosive athlete can.

Again, muscles don't = homeruns, either.

Nah, it's nothing more than your opinion, my personal experience and numerous boxer have claimed that a weight lifting regimen increased their punching power ( scott Ledoux and Chris Byrd from memory ).

Punching prowess is two-fold. It is part technique, & part natural, God-given talent. No steroid in the world will grant you either, & nor do they improve your punch velocity.

It really is a cut-&-dry scenario. The more research done into enhancers & weight-lifting, the more clear the position comes. They will not improve your punch. Every boxer on the planet would be on it if they did.

They can claim it, but the science won't support it.

I'd like to see the scientific evidence supporting your claim

Steroids gives you more stamina, allows you to train longer, increases speed (which happens to be a formula in generating power), and gives you increased explosiveness...who wouldn't want that? even golfers have been busted for steroids.

Power in any movement is just the amount of strength you can increase in the time it takes to perform the movement. Increase your strength you will jump higher, run faster, throw further, punch harder. That's why all those baseball records fell when the players started juicing - they got stronger, so increasing the amount of strength they could express it the time it took them to swing a bat or throw a ball.

There's nothing mystical to throwing a punch - increase your strength and all other things being equal you'll punch harder, just like you'll run faster, jump higher, etc.

Modern boxing strength coaches have found a very close correlation between punching power and shot put distance. Most top shot putters bench 450lb+ and squat 600lb+. Again, power just = strength expressed in a given time frame.

I remember when the average person thought steroids didn't make you run faster. Hardly anything is god-given anymore. There's even developmental drugs to make people taller.

Exactly. People used to say that shit about vertical jump, too : that it was untrainable. There's no magic to any of this stuff. There's god given talent and thats the most important element, but it interacts, or can/should interact with proper strength & plyometric training.

If boxer X increases his bench and squat by 50% & while staying at roughly the same weight & increases his plyometric ability to boot you better believe he's gonna be knocking more people out.....just the same way the baseballers gonna hit more home runs, the shot putter is gonna throw further the sprinters gonna run faster, the basketballers gonna jump higher etc, etc, etc, etc, etc.

Genetics is insignificant without training. However training is not insignificant without genetics. When the two mix is when you have special athletes. The aformentioned friend of mine's raw genetic ability is likely underminded by his parents wallet, which allows him to go to velocity training every week. Matter of fact all of the 100m and 200m finalists and districts were rich kids. Hell, one was even white(who are supposedly genetically inferior sprinters)

Ramonza seems to be quite happy with his opinion. If it increases speed and strength it also increases punching power and u can bank on almost everybody at the higher level to be on some sort of shit.

If a single PED contributed to punching power, every boxer in the world would be on them. There'd be failed tests everywhere.

By all means, Royness, introduce yourself to Dan Duschaine's work.

There is no question, & I'll say it point-blank. Steroids do not improve your hitting power. PED usage is actually lower in Boxing than the huge majority of competitive sports, partly because of weight restrictions. Is there anyone out there who actually believes lifting, for instance (& the muscle gains which go with it), contributes to power? Surely not. If you're shifting more weight behind a punch, you may add a few percentage points into your shot, but we're talking a lot of weight (without even factoring a probably loss in swiftness) for very little realistic difference per blow. Weights amongst any high-level trainer in Boxing have & will be shunned in the huge majority of instances, with the exception of very high reps, which contributes to muscle endurance --- an issue steroids won't help you with, anyway.

Take a look at the known range of PED's Boxers can & may use. Most people (or at least some) would be surprised to know there aren't a great deal of them. Let's begin with Anabolics...

Most of the banned PED's fall into this range, & you have to be lifting weights to see an improvement --- taking these whilst on the couch wouldn't improve anything. It would add water-weight, but not much else. As you can see, for the huge majority of Boxers, this is of little use, since everyone is concerned with losing weight, not gaining it.

If you look at which PED's are best for a Boxer, you would come up with very little, if anything, beyond the following...

EPO - Enhances endurance, & to my knowledge, they don't have a test for it in our sport yet.

Blood Doping - I assume everyone's familiar with what this is, & what the benefits are.

Clenbuterol - One I have used personally in the past, in assistance with rapid acceleration of accentuating lean cuts & improved definition, by way of fat loss. Especially handy for those already lean, but have hit a plateau. There is also Albuterol, which is similar, but not the same. Clen could be useful to Boxers making weight.

Anavar - This aids in recovery, & is said to have little-to-none of the common side effects usually associated with steroid use, such as water-weight retention. A similar substance is Winstrol (some of you may recognise that name --- a certain, "Ferocious" fighter was busted on this), though the substance is of a relatively modest benefit, & probably doesn't justify the risk of being caught out.

No one has yet named (& I'm not talking about this forum, I mean anywhere in the world) a single PED so far manufactured which produces an up-turn in hitting power. It just doesn't exist.
