Are you comparing PDL to Gamboa?

Also FWIW - I'll use my own prediction at the time, which was that PDL would land a bomb to eventually end the fight, and most likely be way down on the scorecards at the time of the stoppage. My pick was based on JuanMa being unproven and the belief that Top Rank was protecting a chinny fighter.

 

Either way by the time this fight goes down if at all, Gamboa and Juan Ma will be 50. Arum has no desire at all to make the fight.

 

Yup, and that has been my contention all along. Not patting myself on the back or anything, most seemed to be well aware of this being the case and found it hysterical when anyone tried to defend Arum or even believe his bullshit.

Now, had Gamboa lost.... it'd be Margarito-Cotto all over again in terms of marketing the fight. Gamboa's asking price goes down, and then his stock goes up by beating JuanMa.

Right now, there's nothing to gain in cashing out JuanMa, so he'll continue to build Gamboa in A/C, where he suddenly has a fan base (sort of).

 

as it turns out the fight probably wouldnt have been worth much anyhow. i, as a boxing fan, dont feel as though i was cheated or missed out on anything potentially great.
