Pavlik knocks Taylor out and Marvin Hagler would struggle with him.. Right........

I think the Pavlik fight proved without a doubt that Taylor was a protected fighter with a very weak chin. He was lucky in the sense that he got Hopkins at 42 years old.

To think that a prime Hagler, who absolutely walked through good, hard punching MW's and beat them down, wouldn't dominate Taylor is wishful thinking.

I don't think Taylor can stand up for 8 or 9 rounds with a MW that has a little bang. And Hagler's relentless attack would make Pavlik look like a counter-puncher.

Sometimes I wonder how much actually footage younger fans have actually seen of guys like Hagler. It's difficult to render an honest assesment if it's based solely on Hagler-Leonard and Hagler-Hearns.

taylor got two razor thin nods over a 40 year old hopkins. he then got a gift draw vs aging powerless winky. other than that, he has zero signifcant wins over a decent middleweight. i would pick hagler to thoroughly beat his ass.

Who else looked better then Jermain did against Nard. After Nard who looked better then Taylor against Wright after Nard.

who else fought the old ass 40 year old version of hopkins? were any of them under the age of 30?

They were the best the 160lb division had to offer even if they were not great. Tarver at 175 was the man he got humiliated. Wright drew with Taylor and got humiliated by Nard too.

define humiliation. hopkins beat winky in a tactical clinch fest.

you must have watched the winky-taylor fight with your eyes closed if you actually thought it was a draw.

Yeah, Hagler wasn't even one-dimensional or slow at all. He was a very versatile boxer-puncher who could brawl and had reasonably quick hands.

That fight isn't a stretch to call it a draw. It was a close fight. I think it could have been anywhere from 7-5 for Wright to 6-6.

Ok humiliation is a bad way of describing the fight. Taylor sure did better then Wright. All i know is im not going to watch the Hops-Wright fight again watching it once was hard enough.
