Jack Reacher: Never Go Back - Trailer/Discussion

I remember thinking that when I saw it. In order to effectively argue this I'd have to rewatch the film or at least the ending and I'll be fucked if I'm about to do that so y'all win.

As expected wasn't nearly as good as the first one. The first one IMO was one of the best action films I've seen in several years. I think it was a 9/10 and I rewatched it several times. The sequel is probably a 5.5/10 and I don't think I'll watch it again. I think one of the things that made the first one so good was that nearly every character in the film was interesting. From the leader of the guys he fights outside the bar to the low level bad guy they hired or the young female. Even the 2 main villains were both interesting. Not the case in the sequel. On top of that Cruise is running around with a woman and a teenage girl in this film, and dealing with three different issues for three different characters killed the flow of this film. 5.5/10

One other thing: There is a whole series of books this show is based on and my biological father has read them all. He said this was not one of the better stories they could have chosen from. Just from watching the movie it almost seems like they chose this story just because of the opening trailer scene at the bar with the two cops. Like they wanted this particular story just to use that scene to sell the film. I have no proof of that, it's just a feeling.
