When was Mayweather a Welterweight?? Late in his career

Sly is saying Floyd Mayweather is one of the most dominant and legendary welterweights in history... He believes Mayweather would beat Robinson and Curry, among others

I'm not knocking Mayweather as a fighter, I am knocking him in the context of how he would do against the best welterweights ever because the fact of the matter is that he is a small, older welterweight fighting GARBAGE opposition

Mayweather at his welterweight best, Curry at HIS welterweight best, you tell me which guy is the better 147 pounder?

I'm disappointed that you would lie like this. It's not even an exaggeration of my position it's an outright lie. What do you gain by lying. You can argue against my points just fine without making it up.

I never said Floyd is a dominant Welterweight or even that at Welterweight he should be ranked near the top. And I never said he'd beat a Welterweight Robinson.

what happened to your integrity all of a sudden?:dunno:

This is a trick question. Bernard would not fight Lamotta because he was not a welterweight. Do I get a prize?

    quote it.

I truly don't know how good the Welterweight Robinson was. But based upon the legend I give him the benefit of the doubt that he was the best and as such I've never picked Floyd to beat that fighter. Floyd would, however, beat Jake Lamotta.

What you are doing (and have done on MANY other occasions) is called Psychological Projection, you should probably seek some therapy to help you with that.

    Here:

Right there, you have Robinson/Hearns/Leonard as SLIGHT, fucking SLIGHT favorites over Floyd Mayweather at 147... now, unless, I missed something, if you are only a SLIGHT UNDERDOG to three of the most feared and dominant welterweights in history, you clearly must be an all-time welterweight... who else is only a SLIGHT underdog to all three of those guys??? Kid Gavilan? Napoles? that's about it

In this little gem you have completely dismissed Robinson, whom you at other times suggest is an all-time great (with the caveat "ASSUMING ALL THE LEGENDS ARE TRUE:wack:, as if there aren't fucking reels upon reels of footage to back it up) ... The day you say "if a 147 pound version of ROy Jones exists in the late 2000s, FLOYD MAYWEATHER DOESN'T HAPPEN!!!" is the day I swallow my entire hat

You have LaMotta, Robinson's fiercest rival, winning "two rounds tops" against Floyd Mayweather, who is both slower of hand and foot at 147 than a prime Robinson and punches 1/4 as hard with a 1/3 the workrate, but because you know it would be scandalous to suggest "Mayweather W15 Robinson" outright, you dismiss all of Robinson's opponents (Basilio and Fullmer would be "dominated" by Floyd, despite neither ever having been dominated by ANYONE, Robinson included) but then, in order to not appear TOO crazy, Mayweather is a "slight" underdog against Robinson:notallthere:

In the real world, Mayweather the welterweight is fucking overwhelmed by Sugar Ray Robinson who is far bigger, far more powerful, faster of hand and faster of foot ... at best, his craftiness allows him to lose a one-sided decision

Nope. He would rather clutter up the discussions with analogies that don't work in the effort to twist things his own way.

Nah...let him think he has something over on me by hiding on ignore and still taking shots at me. It's kinda funny to watch. Stafford is way to much of an attention whore to actually totally ignore me.
