There's No Way Kirkland DIDN'T Look This Fucking Bad in Sparring Also...Yet They Put His Ass in the Ring Anyways... Every Single Punch Hurt and He Looked Old, Unsteady and Clueless as to WHY This was Happening to Him... If NATHAN Else, Kirkland's Always Been a Free Swinger, So to Speak...Yet Tonight, it was as if He Saw 3 Versions of the Same Guy, DIDN'T Know Which One to Swing @, So he Didn't Swing @ All... Ann Wolfe's Already on Facebook Talking About How SAD This Was... REED
I didn't believe he could look worse than he did vs Ishida yet he does (and by a significant margin). What a waste, while he was way short of a great talent, he could have been his generation Arturo Gatti
Yeah, usually it's a case of being sad seeing a former great look completely shot. This is a bit different, because James was never elite. But it's still sad, cause this was an absolute shell of the fighter he was circa 2009-2011. The Glen Tapia win was his last vintage performance.
FEROCITY Was a James Kirkland Staple... Even as Ishida Bounced Him Off the Canvas, Kirkland Kept Wading Back Into the Fray...Literally, He Went Down SWINGING vs. Canelo Alvarez... Tonight was an Ol' Guy that USED to Spar Hard/Fight Hard, Completely DEVOID of Any Traces of Ferocity, Getting His Ass Kicked... REED
My fear now is that brother gets himself in trouble outside the ring, and ends up back in prison. I hope not. I would say he could train, but.... what skills can James teach young fighters????
He can teach them to run around after a punch bag hanging out of the back of a pickup and how to batter his unskilled sparring partners.

Did anybody watch that video of the Canelo vs Kirkland fight where Canelo has been removed from the picture? If you watch it you get a real appreciation of just how bad James was. His hands and feet and head are always in the wrong place.

He regressed over the years. Listen, I'm not saying he ever had the footwork of Tyson, but I seem to remember around the time he destroyed Joel Julio that he was better in terms of balance/pivots.
I would imagine the cruelest, most sadistic Mythical Matchup in history to make would be Kirkland vs Jackson.
He had a lesbian fitness fanatic for a coach. That was it. He was simply not being taught the refinements of Boxing. I never understood how he gravitated to her. His greatest win, Imho, , was against a guy wearing a dog collar who'd spent the preceding 12 months in a detention camp. And he won that by basically outlasting the guy. That was a great win, probably worthy of some sort of title.
You know with Julians eyes I'd give James... I'd give ANYONE a shot provided they had basic evasive skills. James would just walk into the propellor and be iced.
The way he looked last night he would have gotten knocked out shadow boxing. No need to edit footage.
Yeah he's absolutely finished. Some random flyweight would probably KO Kirkland in the first round if they took an aggressive approach.
