Yeah, your post suggests nothing of the sort.

His post centered on two things. Toney/Couture and cage fighters being tougher than boxers. But hey, what do I know... I only check people on their inconsistencies for a living.

But he never said that the Toney vs. Coture fight proved this. Its clear he said that its the way it is.

I have stated it repeatedly that I don't think Couture-Toney proved anything beyond the fact that boxers aren't being 'quitting' in an MMA cage. Although I don't call it quitting.

And yes, I personally think MMA fighters are generally tougher than today's boxers. My opinion has little to do with Toney-Couture and far more to do with MMA guys being willing to fight anyone while boxers fight harder to avoid making fights.

Since everything on here gets looked at closely, let me be clear. My comment means 'IN GENERAL' or as a group. I still hold several boxers, both past and present, among the toughest athletes in history.

Honestly I think new MMA fighters are much like old era boxers in the sense that they are hungry, they are trying to take advantage of an opportunity, and they are willing to give more to achieve what they want. And like great boxers in the past, there may not be another avenue for them to pursue.

Personally, as a boxing fan, I wish more boxers still had that same attitude. Some do and those are the ones I admire.

If that comes off as slamming boxing, I think it's being read wrong. I love boxing but am not in love with the current landscape.
