Announced: Boots 154 debut vs. Uisma Lima in WBA eliminator Oct. 14. On what planet did anyone ask for this when 154 is LOADED. Boots can get top name/title fight without an eliminator. Lima is a farcical elim opponent. Fought NOBODY. Obscure as can be. What are we doing here?

Its disappointing because years ago Boots SEEMED LIKE a guy who would never turn down a big fight.

Fast forward to now, he's turned down Vergil saying he didnt wanna fight at 154 then turned down Teo saying he could no longer make 147.

I like Boots, but even his biggest fans are now disappointed.

Wba interim champ is yoenis tellez. One would assume thats who team ennis is targeting. Tellez didn't set the world on fire vs a pretty much done julian williams. He's at best lower top ten in the division

Boots has become annoying….he wasted years and opportunities to prove himself.

Hopefully in the next 24 months he fights all the title holders at 154.

Yeah, seems like hes a complete non entity. His last win was alright, but he need to fight all these semi legit guys if he want to become a star

Boots is now 28. That's far from old, but 30 will be here within the blink of an eye. He's not a spring chicken. And he's done nothing. Its so sad to say, but even Davis had a stronger resume by 28 than Boots. Though I believe Boots is a better fighter than Stank, he hasn't proven it.

At 28, guys like Roy, Floyd, and Ward had done fucking LIGHT YEARS more than what Boots has done.

You're Hitting the ROOT of What's Disappointing, as a Boots Fan...

His Name was BUILT on Being "Unable to Get Fights", for Being "High Risk, Low Reward", etc...The Boogie Man People REFUSED to Share a Ring w/....Can't Have it BOTH Ways Though...Once Fights ARE Being Offered, You Can't Reject Them...

Nor Can You Move Up to '54, the Deeeeeeeeeeepest Division in Our Sport & Pick a Guy NO ONE's Heard Of, as Your Debut Opponent...There's Credible
NAMES All Over Super Welter, No Fewer than 10-15 BETTER Options than WHOisma Lima...Even Rashidi Ellis, Josh Kelly and Charles Conwell Would've Been Better...

Now, If Boots Can STILL Pack 10,000 Asses in Philly for THIS Guy, that Speaks to His Growing American Drawing Power, but That's Literally the ONLY Potential Upside to Selecting WHOisma Lima...

Boots' VERY NEXT Opponent BETTER Be a Legit, Top 5-10ish Super Welter or the Disappointment/Loss of RESPECT Will Snowball...

Philly is arguably the biggest sports city in the US and they're loyal to local boys. Its also probably the second most loyal city to boxing and boxing culture behind NYC.

Boots can draw a good crowd in Philly, but that's not indicative that he's a mainstream name. He's still a nobody to casuals.

If he had taken the Teo fight, and scored a big KO, it would have boosted his mainstream recognition.

Yep, There's No Generational or A-List Talent's @ '54, But It's LITTERED w/B, B+, B-, C & C+ Level Guys...For All that Boots' Resume Clearly LACKS, '54 is the PERFECT Division to Add LEGIT Names, to Beef Up His Ledger...

Which is what Makes WHOisma Lima That Much MORE Disappointing...

The thing which surprises me as well is that he's an Eddie Hearn/Matchroom fighter (at least as far as I was aware, if it has changed then I hold my hands up and sit corrected). Hearn was bigging Boots UP when he first signed him, but I barely hear a peep now. For all the shit that Fast Eddie gets, I think he's superb at his job, and I thought Boots was going to get some much needed exposure once he signed with Matchroom, but if anything I actually forgot about him.

Hes getting a guaranteed minimum with Hearn and it seems his team has decided to milk it and take the least dangerous opponent DAZN/matchroom accepts as a tune up in his foray into 154 and also to position himself for a title shot. I suspect no on here with be any happier if his next fight is for the WBA interim title vs Tellez.

    Boots Recently Re-Upped w/Hearn for a Multi-Fight Deal...

REED Shares Your Opinion of Hearn as a Promoter...You Can't TRUST the Motherfucker:Jest:, But as a Boots Fan, REED Ain't Complaining...In Just 3 Bouts, Hearn's Done Significantly MORE for Boots Than PBC Did in 10 or More Fights as an Affiliate (Stephen Espinosa/Showtime Connection)...

Boots Never Even FOUGHT In his Hometown of Philly, Under PBC...Hearn's About to Get Boots His 3rd Bout in Philly, w/the Other 2 Having Done 10k or So in Attendance...The Stanionis Unification Could've Happened Under PBC, Yet it Took Place On DAZN, as a Hearn/Matchroom Bout...

Hearn's Doing a Good Job w/Boots; He's Never Been More ACTIVE Or In the Boxing News as Frequently, Even if We're Disappointed/Underwhelmed w/That News Sometimes....

REED For Sure Would've Been Happier w/Tellez, Who's NO World Beater, Admittedly, But @ Least We've HEARD Of Him???:Dont:....Can't Strut Around Like You're the Boogeyman Then Take the Path of LEAST Resistance...

Boots was INVITING Negative Publicity w/the Choice of Opponent...

PROMOTER LOEFFLER CONFIRMS BOHACHUK TURNED DOWN ENNIS

Tom Loeffler, Serhii Bohachuk's promoter: “I know Eddie Hearn mentioned there was a big offer made for Serhii [to fight Ennis], but we were working on this fight, which I told Eddie, and we feel like this is a more important step for the promotion of his career, to fight the rematch with Brandon Adams on [the Canelo-Crawford card]."

Bohachuk, seemingly unaware of the offer, denied turning down an Ennis fight to @TruSchoolSports, “That is not true, nobody offered to fight Ennis”
