Even though some of the other sites have more traffic in their forums, 75% of that shit is unreadable.

 for real.. I mean, people have to know that the forums will trash you.. as I remember Jeff on here, everyone was nice to him.. still you can not come in and expect everyone to suck your dick
If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks... I love the FB forums because the knowledge here from some of the posters is unmatched. Plus, I like quality over quantity - there may not be a lot of threads or posts but you get some great stuff. With that said, if you don't see the problem with the attitude and comments on these boards then...well, you probably post here a lot. It's not about the attitude towards boxers--you get that on every message board. It's the attitude towards others, the sexual, racial and other weird a** comments you see posted on here. And some of the posts here are beyond malicious...it's scary. I get the feeling some people on here just don't really interact with too many humans or are plain losers. I mean, I can't think of any other reason for it. As a person who used to write for this site and has spoken to many other writers and people in the industry on the east coast, I can tell you that a lot of people feel that way. Except, it's starting to show in the increasing amount of tumbleweeds here. Bottom line, some people need to take the hint.
I totally agree. I've ventured over to some of the busier forums a couple of times, and they absolute shit. A plethora of shitty threads from shitty clueless fans.
I agree look at other Forums at the same time.: Fightbeat -Currently Active Users: 14 (9 members & 5 guests) Eastside - Currently Active Users: 357 (233 members and 124 guests) MaxBoxing -Currently Active Users: 24 guests, 115 members 11 anonymous BoxingScene-Currently Active Users: 1015 (182 members and 833 guests) OUCH!
I also remember when Jeff Mayweather was here. I can only recall one post that was in any way disrepecful to him.
Eastside for example is much more directed to Europeans than Fightbeat so how any people are online depends a lot on what hour of day it is. Europeans are awake at different time. I am visiting this place because I like people here and I find it interesting to read threads from American point of view, the way of thinking is different from European forums
Hums "Cheers" theme in head. Remembers what a bitch that Shelly Long was and then masturbates to a young Kirstie Alley and feels sick about myself later. .....................where everybody knows your name!!!!
Let's not forget, we really don't want 500 plus people here. That's not the direction I want either. It's simply a nice family of people that come here religiously. We want smart people who can make our life interesting and challenge what we believe in. That's what has always made this a top forum, not numbers. Cupey
That is a very good approach but to work out it means that the people have to change from time to tie because as someone already pointed out, there is only so much that you can discuss about in boxing and after some years everybody knows what each other think. It happens with every forum
Who are you kidding? :nono: The whole place collapses anytime there's more then 20 people on line at once. This place has the bandwith of a GeoCities site. ::
It's Disappointing to REED that a Fighter would ALLOW the Boards to Drive him Away... U CAN'T Please Everybody, so Quite Naturally, Some Posters AIN'T Buying what U're Selling... On the General Forum a Level of MATURITY Needs to B Maintained, but Disagreeing &/or Arguing "Hard" Should ALSO B Maintained...RESPECTFULLY Disagree... REED has Gotten MORE than his Fair Share of FLACK Over the Years, yet NEVER 1nce Thought of Leaving the Site...REED Doesn't Allow the Comments of Others to B THAT Big of a Deal to Him & Jeff Mayweather/Otis Griffin/Gerald Tucker Should Do LIKEWISE.... REED
The Only Problem is, it's IMPOSSIBLE to MAINTAIN a Conversation on those Larger Sites...Especially BoxingScene... A Thread Gets Started Over there, then the Next Hour it's ALREADY on the 2nd Page...90% of Messageboard Posters ONLY Reply to what's on the 1st Page... Also, Larger Sites R LESS about INDIVIDUALITY & MORE about CLIQUES...Instead of Having their OWN Thoughts, Guys Partake N a Circle Jerk of AGREEMENT... REED::
Hey REED, I just read over at CNN.com that Halle Berry just passed away from an overdose of penicillin. Now's your chance!:clap:
I agree Reed. Boxingscene forums is not what we want to become. I don't want to go the cyberboxingzone route either. We just need a consistant flow of people and moderators to quickly remove and trolls on this board. The reason it's a little quiet sometimes IS because we removed a lot of garbage from the site. So just hang in there while we rebuild the forums. Cupey
I'd rather post on a smaller site with more freedom, then a bigger site where you have to adhere to a strict rulebook or else face banning. I think the rules are pretty laid back here, and you really gotta be a dick to get banned, and that's a good thing in my opinion. I think maybe a shakeup in mods might improve the site as well, especially ones who don't actively post here anymore. A bad mod can kill a site. You saw the damage Phonetap did when he abused his mod powers. When Sly threatened to ban me a few days back just because I called him out on his hypocrisy in a particuliar thread....that kind of stuff leaves a bad taste in your mouth. A forum can only be as good as it's moderators. Also, this place needs to embrace good ideas. A few months ago I suggested a 'Schedule of Upcoming Fights' should be created and stickied on the top of the page. People thought it was a great idea, the schedule was created, then never updated and eventually disappeared. I mentioned that we should cross promote with other sites, and suggested we find an MMA board with a boxing area, and make a deal with them where we name our MMA area after their forum, and they name their boxing area after Fightbeat. People said it was a great idea, and then bam, it was dropped and nothing happened. If the people want to point fingers at why this place is what it is, they need to be pointing fingers at themselves before anyone else. TFK
agREED. As long as we're all equal on here to disagree spiritedly there won't be a problem. And for whatever its worth, getting rid of hateful trolls is always a plus, but I don't understand what removing a clown like dymi or kauki does. I mean if Kauki or someone with that persona goes over the line here in GD with some white power schtick, then yeah a short vacation is justified, but beyond that the little innuendos are what make this place fun. Kauki if u read this you gotta bring back the Tszyu scorpion thing btw::
I think this is complete bullshit. Jeff was here "rarely" and NEVER got into it with anyone here. Then the site went down and everyones log-on was screwed up. Jeff never bothered to correct it for whatever reasons. He didn't seem like the message board type of person to begin with. People like that , a simple thing like a log-on issue and they say "screw it , who cares" and just don't care if they post or not. Pretty much what he said to you is really the only thing he could say when you confronted him. I mean what would he say "I don't give a fuck"
