I don't buy it Carlos. From what I remember, Jeff was always shown a ton of respect and he was always a cool guy around here. Technical problems on your end are the real reason. ::
He told me he got really busy on his end. But fightbeat and eastsideboxing run the two toughest forums. cupey
Oooohhhhh Seriously, why is there still talk how this forum is dead :dunno: I'm telling you there were 50 people in here when Jermain fought Pavlik, that's norm to me, especially for that type of fight. People come through here and read, they just are not in here enough compared to the regular poster losers here
Thank God we have several old posters here that can remember how things played out  This Jeff nonsense is sounding like a Petre scenerio to justify another agenda :stir:
I don't remember ANYBODY being rude to Jeff. :dunno: Maybe he didn't like people being rude to each other? :dunno:
I really can't remember guys fucking with Jeff. Now Team Tucker on the other hand, that's a whole different story:: I must admit I will ride with everyone here till the wheels fall off. I have grown to like a few cats around here and I can't stand most of the nerds over at sherdog. Seriously cupey, if you see some shit you don't like being posted warn them and if it persists, move the thread to TAA. No big deal. Guys can have it out all they want over there.
If someone doesn't know how to behave to your liking, ban them from GD but let them post in TAAA :dunno: If they can't behave at a more liberal place with its rules, then ban them to smacktalk....etc. This is what should have happened to Kaliber and his Jones crap:warning: I don't think there is anyone here that this would have to implemented with, for now. So why all this talk still :dunno:
If you want to get rid of posters who ruin the forum just appoint Leeder as a mod! He doesnt think twice about banning! TRUST ME I KNOW::
That's true. I was equal opportunity about that stuff, but I also gave people an opportunity to explain themselves and straighten up. ::  ::
DisagREED... REED can Recall "The Gerald Tucker Experiment" Going BAD when he Started Referring to Himself N a Lb 4 Lb Sense..."Next Lb 4 Lb Great", etc.... That Rubbed ALOT of Posters the Wrong Way, but HOW ELSE is a Fighter Supposed to Think of Himself???:dunno: ... The Guy had an IMPRESSIVE, VERIFIABLE Ammy Background & he Constantly Provided Recent FOOTAGE of his Progress...& Most Peeps that SAW his Footage were Impressed By it... It's NOT like Tucker was Some BUM w/a Video Camera, Beating Up Homeless Guys:: ...Yet Peeps Got BENT OUT Of Shape when he Exhibited CONFIDENCE & High Hopes about his Boxing Future... REED Isn't Sure HOW or WHY that Warranted the BACKLASH that Tucker Received... REED:dunno:
I agree with you in a sense REED, it would be even more ridiculous if he was to come on saying "I'm a bit of a no hoper really, I haven't fought in years, I'm chubby, and would be battered by any borderline world class pro". But what he was saying was just as silly. Being confident and aspirational is one thing, but not returning to the pro ranks without a 1 million signing bonus, and claiming you'd beat pacman and every other world class fighter in the division, when you're a novice pro that hasn't fought in years is absurd ::
It's funny how when Mods tighten the screws, folks complain that we are too restrictive.... But when we "go liberal", then people complain about the riffraff and want more strict moderating. I agree we need to be more active....but just remember you asked. ::
I think anyone that arrives here and immediately claims to be the future P4P champ, in spite of not fighting in years, tells people his record but leaves out a draw against a 0-4-4 fighter, then tries to solicit management, demanding a $44K signing bonus and $6K Monthly, then claiming he'll be fighting in Million Dollar fights within a year...at bantamweight no less, is gonna be met with some backlash. He brought it all on himself. TFK
You don't remember when he said he'd have easily beaten Pacquiao and Donaire after their fight card? That's what started it off for me, from this point I openly voiced my annoyance... And brought back Alejandro Lopez from wherever he is now...:crafty: I'm not ashamed, this dude was a douche. Otis Griffin is a great guy though, and never once I've been rude to him. Tucker got what he deserved.
I agree, Otis is cool. He actually walked the walk, he was an active, ranked pro fighter. He even took his loss to green in good spirits. He wasn't full of empty hyperbole like tucker.
True, in fact even before the site went down Jeff was pretty much already gone. There were questions for him on his page that he hadn't answered in months and it wasn't like posters were killing the sites bandwidth to ask him stuff anyway. His page wasn't that popular nor was he a "real" poster. I appreciate him being on here for us and all, but in truth the guy was nothing more than window dressing. I hear complaints all the time about where is guys like FreeIke and stuff, I've never heard anyone say they miss Jeff.
haha...I pointed out these same things to Tucker back then and actually got shit from some people for being mean to him. Oh well. Fact is, I got a kick out of Tucker and his off-the-charts confidence and I wish he still posted regularly. And I don't think he left because he was pissed or anything? He probably just got bored, I'm guessing.
Another suggestion I have for promoting the board, is make a myspace page. I know myspace is gay and all, but everyone has a page, be they athletes, bands, politicians or teenage girl. Create the page, fill it up with board members as friends, and then become friends with every boxer and mma fighter who has a page, no matter how good, bad or indifferent they are. Then send out frequent messages to keep our name on their front page, and watch the membership grow. People use myspace to search out what they want. I created a page for the last band I was in, and without doing much we were getting contacted by bars that wanted us to play there, and by other bands looking to play shows together. Like I said, Myspace may sound gay or juvinile, but it's effective. TFK
