or, his promoter is the one who lacks confidence in him (or simply can't justify taking risks with him).

Taylor has an HBO contract. he gets paid everytime he fights. the same amount. what incentive does he have to fight anyone tough?

if you wanna keep things real simple, Taylor's comp is crap for the same reason Mosley's was for a time - because he has an HBO contract.

Taylor could turn out every bit as willing to take on dangerous opponents as Mosley is. if and when his contract is gone and he has to go back to proving himself for a living.

    fucking HBO. idiots.

Wow, I didn't realize he got paid the same amount for each fight.

    How much is that?

Who is saying Pavlik is the most ducked guy? Nobody is ducking him except for Taylor.

You are fooling yourself if you think Taylor jumps right up to 168 and faced Calzaghe or Kessler. There is no chance that happens. Besides that Taylor needs to fight someone sice Calzaghe and Kessler are now officially going to fight. Do you suggest Taylor just wait around?

i'm not sure. but he doesn't always end up with the same amount of cash - it's a function of how much he has to pay his opponent.

If it's a purse splitting deal, he would be better off fighting people like pavlik, as pavlik would of course accept less than say Winky Wright.

not necessarily. Pavlik said in his post-fight interview that if a fight couldn't get made with Taylor, that he'd go on with his career - it was a clear negotiating tactic -

Pavlik is no Adrian Stone - he's not gonna take what's offered him - he's with TR which means he must have a good mgr, etc. - he's been on TV a ton and he's highly regarded - he will demand significant compensation - you can bet...more than a guy like Spinks or Ouma would

Maybe you're right, especially in regards to spinks and ouma.

Taylor probably feasts on another bum now then.

Taylor is getting KTFO soon, it has to happen, boxing karma. Just look at that little nonce vic.

    here's the problem...

Taylor vs the winner of Kessler-Calzaghe will dance around each other for AT LEAST a year.

Taylor will need a few warm up fights to "settle" into 168. Plus, if Showtime lands the fight, it pretty much guarantee's Taylor won't fight either guy seeing that Taylor fights exclusively on HBO.

I really don't care for Taylor but I'm not sold on Pavlik yet. I'll be rooting for him, but I'm quite sure Taylor will win a decision.
