    How far over. Joan trains like a machine. Incredibly tough on himself and sparring partners in the gym. His problem is what happens before camp opens. He eats ALOT of high fat/carb food and the weight is hard to drop for him at these higher weights, because he carries too much muscle.

    That is it in a nutshell. As these fighters get older, they think they can eat like they did 5 years ago and still make weight. The importance of the dedication to the diet has to be maintained as an athlete gets older. They all know how to train, that isn't the issue. Keeping your diet maintained even when not in camp or in an "off-season" is.
