Silva sure didn't seem to have a problem with fighting GSP though when talks came about.

As much as people would like to believe otherwise, Rashad is a wrestler, not a striker. He just happens to have a decent punch if he can land it flush but his striking skills are very sub par even by MMA standards. Would like to see Jon Jones fight an elite striker. Dan Henderson is a good striker but he's more wild and reckless, throwing wild shots and hoping something lands.

True, but his style can give Jones probs if Jones stsys as confident with his stand up. Besides, Silva is one of the best ever, therefore the fight makes perfect sense. If anyone could find a way, he can.

Silva is a coward in that sense. He would not want to fight Jones. Silva is happy staying put or fighting smaller guys. Kind of like Mayweather. Why test yourself when you don't need to?

Agreed. Anyone who thinks that Rashad had much of a chance in this fight doesnt kniw MMA very well.

Well then hopefully Jones takes it upon himself to do the opposite and challenge himself at HW.

if jones keeps winning at light heavy he will be the biggest star in mixed martial arts and begin to gain some leverage over how much money he can earn. he should stay and completely clean out that division while he can still make it.

The only chance Evans had was the chance of landing a big right hand on an unsuspecting Jones. That's about it. Probably enough for some folk to hand over $49.95 on ppv.
The UFC and Dana White is reporting that the fight sold out for a $2 million gate although some members of other MMA boards including mmanews.com who attended the event are calling bullsh*t, saying there were many empty seats in the arena.

There's nobody at LH left for him to fight other than Dan Henderson. After that, the opportunities at LH are over. It will have to be heavyweight against the likes of JDS, Overeem, etc.

jones should stay and dominate at light heavy since he makes the weight comfortably. i would not advise him to give up his advantages for the sake of making you goons happy. financially it isnt worth it for him, until he starts commanding much higher purses.

I feel Rashad and Jones took it easy on each other in their fight. They actually hurt each other at different points but neither really tried to finish. I feel most of this so called "beef" was fake and they still like each other and only fought each other because Dana White and the UFC put them in the corner. This is exactly why I would never want to see the Klitschos fight becaue if they did it would resemble a sparring session just like this fight did.

Hendo just doesn't have the reach to compete with Jones and we know Jones takes Hendo down at will. Jones wins that fight in two rounds. Round one he uses his reach and kicks to peck away at Dan while Dan tries an occasional wild right and come round two Jones takes it down and ground and pound elbows and good night.

Who is left after that ? The Swede ? Phil Davis ? Gegard Moussasi ? King Mo if they take him back? The King Mo fight I think would interest me the most out of these here listed followed by Moussasi only because I like Moussasi.

It's us goons who are allowing Jon Jones to make a good living. He can stay at LH if he chooses but he ain't gonna command the big money if he's fighting bums whom nobody wants to see him fight. You'll see that reflected in the ppv buys before soon and the fans will be demanding he move his 230lb ass to heavyweight to fight guys his own size.

I bought 2 ppvs in 2010 actually. 1 ppv in 2011. Nothing so far this year. Internet streams make it easy though to save money. Anyway, the point here is that you are a fan of Fraud F*ckweather Jr. And Fraud fans usually prefer that their favourite fighters take the easy matches and avoid any potential threats. So no surprise that you want Jon Jones to f*ck around in the sh*thole LHW division and just cash in and avoid any real threats from challengers who are his own size or bigger.
:giggle: Typical Niel. Always scared that his beloved heroes might actually be tested.:laugh11:

Jones ISN'T even 25 Years of Age Yet...Jones ISN'T even in his Prime Fighting Years Yet...Dude has @ LEAST 10 GOOD Fighting Years Left in him...The Heavyweight Division Will B There, as his Body NATURALLY Matures...

Walking Around @ 230ish DOESN'T Make U a Heavyweight, Necessarily...Guys like Lesnar & Carwin had to CUT Weight just to Make 265...Guys like Cain & JDS CUT Weight to Fight in the 240's, 10lbs More than Jones' STREET Weight...

Jones WILL Be a Heavyweight in Due Time...REED would have No Problem w/an OCCASIONAL Heavyweight Bout, in btwn Lightheavy Title Defenses, but a PERMANENT Move to Heavy is Premature @ this Juncture...

If you're Dana White and you need to sell ppvs, tell me who exactly you think can be marketed as an opponent for Jon Jones at LHW other than the upcoming Dan Henderson fight?
Or are we just going to see Jon Jones fighting rematches against the same crop of guys like Machida, Shogun, Evans, etc?
The move to heavyweight is inevitable. It will have to happen and very soon. There is nobody at LHW for Jon Jones.
The UFC doesn't have a whole lot of fodder left at LHW for Jones to feast on for many more years. And they don't really have any more marketable foes for Jones at LHW.
Jones is almost 25 and the shelf life for a UFC fighter is fairly narrow. Don't assume he's got 10 years of fighting left in him. He'd be lucky to even have 5 but then again in MMA, every fighter is one punch or kick away from staring at the lights.
Also one other thing we tend to forget is the sport is ever evolving. The next generation of fighters will be coming in over the next few years so Jon Jones being special now may not be special a couple of years from now.

There's a price he has to pay for being 'too good'. Dynamic or not, he will be forced to make the move to heavyweight soon. Dana White is no Don King. He'll make sure his guys are fighting the best in the world. After Henderson, Bones Jones will become a heavyweight.

:atu: Dana White is the reason Jon Jones is able to breathe otherwise Jon boy would be getting f*cked up the ass with child support payments by his girlfriend while working a job in a factory.
After last night, people are expecting him to go to the next level, not f*ck around with guys half his size. And even then, he still couldn't stop the subservient bum Rashad Evans who had nothing to offer after 2 rounds.

Evans has KO'd somebody before with a big kick. But he's too small really for Jones. They're really a weightclass apart.
