Has marquez a better chance of beating pac compared to mosley in people's opinion?

    It's not a new division, it's the same division it's always been - Mannyweight(tm)!

.. You really believe Pac would have a hard time losing 5 lbs of water weight?

So did i, but had they made it at 147, Golden Boy would've had a shot at matching the offer.

The best they can offer now, is Ortiz-Marquez, but I don't see them paying Marquez $5 million for that fight. I never believed they were serious about an Alvarez fight happening and always thought it was political chess, but Arum basically put them in checkmate.

It's a stretch to imagine that Alvarez can still squeeze down to 147; there's no way in hell he can get to 145, and there's nobody else in GBP that can justify matching the offer just for the sake of keeping him for one more fight.

    seriously

    this shit is ridiculous

    only in boxing

it would be like a baseball team with great pitching and defense but no power hitters telling the Yankees "we will kick your asses at the stadium, but first you have to move the right field wall out to 400 feet and left field to 410"

Just a few people around, some who knew abit about boxing. Some tho did just base their argument on shane being the bigger guy.

I do think marquez will give manny a tough night. A points decision for manny is most probable imo.

Not based upon their first two.

The fight itself will be good, but i think most people would agree it's not one they have any great anticipation for.

No matter how great a fight is (even Corrales-Castillo for example) i've never had the the same butterflies for any rematch as i've had for two boxers going head to head for the first time.

PBF/Marquez was called garbage, so this one is garbage by default.

No. Pac/Marquez have produced two FOTY year candidates.

PBF-JMM was garbage because nobody in their right mind figured Marquez had any realistic chance of winning.

So it's PBF's fault that JMM isn't in his league?

No, but not only was/is Marquez a much smaller guy but he didn't have a single advantage over Mayweather.

Typically the smaller fighter is more technically skilled and 99 times out of 100 faster. To top it all off Marquez was fighting two divisions higher than he'd even got his feet wet in.

Same shit is happening here. Anyone who criticized Floyd Jr for Marquez that doesn't criticize Pac for this fight is a straight-up hypocrite.

Having said that, *I* don't believe this is a garbage fight, and I am looking forward to it. JMM is free to come in at 141 if he chooses, which is probably his in-ring weight or close to it at 135 anyway. Yes, Pac is more likely to win due to the weight, but even if he does, JMM will make it competitive nevertheless.

Bradley would Get the Nicki Minaj Treatment; Pac would SHIT on him...Marquez has Given Pac 2 of the TOUGHEST Fights of his Life & REED Honestly Thinks he'll Do Likewise a 3rd Time...

w/Some Guys, U Can Match them Up @ ANY Age, Weight or Time in their Careers & They'll ALWAYS Make for a GOOD Fight...Barrera-Morales, Vasquez-Marquez, for Example...REED Thinks Pac-Marquez is Another...

I see you've changed your tune.

You said you were confident Marquez would win even at 147.

I don't think this fight will happen.

Kermit will most likely fight Manny next.

I never said that Marquez won't win here, I just said Pac is more likely to win due to the weight. Though I was engaging in hyperbole when I said I was *confident* that Marquez would win (I do that often) I would still pick Marquez over Pac any day of the week.
