I've heard many liken this to a 108 version of Duran vs Chavez, with Chang representing Duran and Yuh representing Chavez. I think that's accurate.

Granted, Chang, although great, was nowhere near as good as Duran, and Yuh, although great, was nowhere near as good as Chavez, but the styles comparisons are valid.

Just as I feel Duran would have been too quick and dynamic for Chavez, I also reckon Chang is too quick and dynamic for Yuh. BUT.... I think Yuh has a much better argument for beating Chang than Chavez has over Duran.

I don't like that comparison. Sure, I get the angle of "ones technically brilliant but very textbook and not as talented, whereas the other is a phenom and extremely creative" but I don't think that means it's a LFly-Duran vs Chavez. There's tons of match ups that can be described as that.

How this match up goes down depends on Chang's mindset going in, for me. If it's promoted in Korea with an angle that it's going to be a war, where the most brutal fighter who'll give no quarter and who wins an unforgettable fight will be revered as a national treasure, and remembered as a legend. Then I can absolutely see Chang going in with war written on his face and exchanging ferociously with Yuh, in a fight which would likely be the very best ever in the lower weights. In this intense, ridiculous war, I can see the technical effortlessness of Yuh's more compact shots and parrying with that economic head-movement troubling Chang early on, and Yuh's endless stamina troubling Chang in the late rounds. I'd pick Chang anywho, but Yuh looks much, much better in this scenario.

What I think would actually happen though, if this fight took place in a vacuum, is that Chang would do what he did to Torres, and use his angles and his foot-speed to turn Yuh after letting lose a combination. Why would he make things more difficult if he didn't have to, right?

I love Yuh, and would really want the first to have happened. Actually, I wish Yuh fought Torres himself. Now that'd be fun!

Excellent analysis, and I can't say you're wrong at all.

Yes, I certainly think the Chang from the first Torres fight would be ideal for fighting Yuh.

In a war, like you said, Chang probably still wins, but he gives Yuh a much better chance at victory.

A matchup I would love at 108 would be Yuh vs Carbajal.
