Witter is a big $$$$ fight for Hatton in the UK? HOw much was he making before coming to the states? Wasn't the money he made for Castillo his biggest purse ever? 3-4 million? SO how much was he making in the UK before he came to the states?

I bet it's a big fight....but is it as big as Cotto vs. Hatton...or Hatton vs. Mayweather or vs. Mosley...or vs. DE La Hoya?...NO..nO..NO>>NO...NO..


Yeah..Cotto was hurt by Corley..but he stopped him 2-3 rounds later..while Witter had to do some sprinting in the last few rounds.

i give hatton credit for fighting floyd, but he IS ducking junior witter at EVERY turn. Come on REED, witter has been his biggest british rival for the past 7 years and hatton has ducked him. at the moment, hatton has a defence because he's fighting floyd, but he can't defend the past 7 years and he won't be able to have a defence for the future either.

 

do you know that witter was a novice then, taking a leap in class, and took the fight at 9 days notice. hatton has 40 fights before he stepped up.

..Witter resume is full of crap...the last 2-3 years he has fought some decent fighters..C/B level fighters like N'dou, Kotelnik, Corley..and now Vivian Harris..but other than that his resume is pure shit...

 

because nobody wants to fight him. now that he holds the wbc belt, he might get good fights. the harris fight is a good start. im really looking forward to seeing junior do the business in good fashion. look at the 140 division, malignaggy, gavin rees (WBA), hatton, harris. who else is there? i think junior can beat all 4 of them.

its debatable whether or not junior would have beaten them, however i think he would have. the ight on friday will tell us a lot about junior, harris is travelling all the way over to the uk and he's not here to lose. thats whats going to make the victory all the more sweeter.

Witter beats Harris on the internet



Witter (Bradford/Doncaster) claims he got the better of 'Vicious' Harris over the internet and is confident of doing the same on the Hennessy Sports show which will be shown live on Sky Sports.

"He found my website on MySpace and left a couple messages for me through it after his fight with Juan Lazcano," said Junior.

"I would rather not get into a slanging match with him, but if he wants one then I will win that as well.

"His messages weren't that original or funny. I didn't go on MySpace to do that sort of thing, but I sent replies back in the end and I've not heard anything since from him.

Vivian Harris: "Witter Fights Like a Coward"


Vivian Harris was in confident mood at a press conference on Wednesday ahead of his fight against WBC Light-Welterweight Champion Junior Witter on Friday.

Harris (New York/Guyana) challenges Witter (Bradford, England) for the most prestigious world title at the The Dome at Doncaster Lakeside on a Hennessy Sports show.

Witter makes his second defence after out-pointing DeMarcus Corley (USA) for the title last year and defending against Arturo Morua (Mexico) last time out in January.

The challenger does not consider Witter's style or his home advantage as a problem in his attempt to become a two-time world champion.

"I am here to get to get the job done and I'm not making any predictions," said Harris, the former WBA champion.

"I just know that come the end of the fight I will be WBC champion.

"I don't know what's going to happen when the fight starts but I'm going to do what I've got to do.

"He has an awkward style. He fights a bit like a coward, but I have faced more awkward people.

"I've got a lot of weapons and I'm going to win that belt. I'm not worried about the judging, the crowd or Witter, nothing."

I like a lot of the domestic level fighters. The heavyweights are garbage, I loved it when Fraudly got exposed. i like young mutley, although he's very exposed. i liked david barnes up until he got exposed too. I dislike maceroni with a passion and think Haye would do him. Great fight.

 

a great night of boxing was when Alex Arthur got exposed by Michael Gomez. WHAT A FIGHT.

he's a good honest pro. I like him. Not world class though but he deserves his credit. Witter would kill him though.

See, I have a real problem with fighters who pad their records and fight mismatched opponents without stepping up til they absolutely have to. It makes me hate them.

 

Have you seen the Mbaye fight? Did Mbaye look shot or what? Mbaye is, or was a pretty good fighter. This Rhys guy must be pretty good to beat Mbaye.
