Yeah he's not particularly likeable, or talented really. I will give him credit for fighting the best guys....he wants Loma next, that will be a career-ending fight for him. That right hand against Teo is his whole career highlight basically. Changed the course of his career.
Probably one of the worst boxing robberies I’ve seen recently. Disgusting. How Lopez lost to a limited fighter like Kambosos is beyond me.
Kambosos got schooled by a journeyman. Lol. But I never had a doubt he was gonna get the decision. Davis looked ehhhh. Nothing special. I think he’s a decent talent but not a special talent. Seems all but certain that Devin will vacate titles to go to 140, thus Shakur and Loma are gonna end up fighting it out. And Tank’s pussy ass will still hide behind PBC and fight no hopers.
I think it’s become clear now that Kambosos win over Teo was a fluke. He’ll never perform like that again.
It was the perfect storm. He came ready and motivated and Teo completely overconfident and not taking his opponent seriously whatsoever.
And besides that Fimo got robbed. He easily won enough rounds to take the decision. The judges, along with everyone watching were so ‘wowed’ by that 1 KD that they forgot how to score fights. Lopez basically dominated other than that KD, total shit decision that ‘went under the radar’.
Bozos is by leaps and bounds THE worst fighter to ever score a major upset over a P4P fighter. Douglas & Honeyghan, at least those guys were talented fighters. Just inconsistent. Even Rachman had some ability. But Bozos? Totally and utterly devoid of any ability. A fucking bum.
I thought he at least had hand speed going for him but not even that on closer inspection. He’s basically a journeyman.
We'll see moving forward how legit Teo is. We know now that he's capable of very hot nights when he can clearly beat top fighters, but being a great is about consistency. He has to prove that he can consistently fight at Taylor/Loma level, and not revert back to struggling with lesser level fighters.
I saw Kambosos win over Selby (a fight I thought he lost) and was absolutely shocked he was able to beat a talent like Lopez. It seemed the stars really aligned for him on this night and was more of a fluke than a testament of his abilities. Solid gatekeeper type of fighter but nothing more it seems
There's something to this I think. Kambosos should never have been able to beat a guy like Lopez, let me just say, but he does seem to do a lot better against guys that come at him. He seems to really struggle bad when he's made to press the issue against a mover.
Plus, Hughs resorted to grabbing to shut down the counter, doing a lot of hit then hold. Lopez did not use that tactic much if I recall correctly.
I think it's hilarious that you forget daily that styles make fights, repeatedly falling into the trap of thinking that if fighter A beats fighter B and fighter B beats fighter C that fighter A necessarily beats fighter C. Every pick you make in mythical matchups is based on some version of this argument.
1. I've never fallen into ABC logic. For fucks sake, only a few months ago I opened an entire thread on here discussing how Tyson/Foreman/Liston all had differing styles that could beat each other. So, there goes that argument. 2. Bozos beating Teo had nothing to do with styles. It had everything to do with Teo clubbing and smoking hookah instead of training, and using none of his tools in the ring.
Lopez lost cuz he didn't prepare properly, fought dumb, thought he'd walk thru the guy, and was looking for a HL reel ko when he had the kid hurt. And almost died, etc
