What do you mean by "great"? Great as in all-time?

I don't remember ever having said that.

He IS a 'great' SMW fighter/champion in the popular vernacular context of the word. I.E.; the common definition.

And Calzaghe just beat him clearly....which makes Calzaghe even more 'great.'

    Peace.

Double you need to sort yourself out. Are you blind? Kessler landed some solid shots indeed, but Calzaghe took them remarkably well. He has an excellent chin.

Kessler was more hurt from Calzaghe's "slaps". Properly hurt to head and body, and even admitted it afterwards.

Calzaghe also landed over 100 more punches, so you're wrong, Calzaghe is the one who put the hurt on and did more damage.

I was shouting for joy in the fourth round as kessler pounded calzaghe. it was the first time he introduced the uppercut and it was landing cleanly. it was great and i was really enjoying myself. I really wanted him to beat Calzaghe and he had a lot of success. Unfortunately he went quiet after the sixth round.

I don't think I'll ever see Calzaghe beaten. But Kessler repeatedly hitting him in that fourth round was one of the best moments I have had watching a fight. Kabary Salem flooring Calzaghe was another momentus moment.

MWS, Double is just saying that Kessler put hurt on Calzaghe, period.

    And he did.

I don't think he's implying that Kessler hurt Calzaghe MORE than Calzaghe hurt him, etc.

Let Double have his spite....it's like a sweet, soothing balm for a troubled soul.

I'm going to respect your post and give you some constructive criticism. First of all I agree that Kessler did a great job, but was just in with a better fighter. The power he displays in his punches looks like it would take out any other fighter. I also agree that Joe's punching style does leave a bit to be desired. However, you would get a lot more respect for your threads if you would at least point out some of the positives the fighter you picked against did and give them some kind of credit. It's no wonder you get so much flak for your post fight threads and your rep is starting to precede you. Why couldn't you talk about the positives Joe displayed like his footwork, toughness, or defense? People would listen more to your side if you listen to theirs.

By the way, I can't wait to hear how much you're going to rip Mosley when he kicks Cotto's ass.

 well done for Calzaghe to absorb the brutal power punches to put on the tremendous slaps to win the fight by default

He has indeed seen happier days. That's double l on a weekday, getting looked after by his dear old mum, without a care in the world.

This is sad double l each saturday night, after either getting another prediction horrendously wrong, or seeing another one of his favourite fighters crushed like an insect.
