On the front page of The Independent (probably the most credible paper in the UK) is a picture of Khan looking dejected and something about Khan's title being stolen by bad judges in the caption.

Khan would be better served working with Bernard Hopkins and his crew rather than Freddie Roach. Freddie's an offensive teacher not so much defense. I can see Khan having a long career if he fought in a negative defensive manner like Hopkins more than getting into dogfights.

In fact, it would serve him well to work with Hopkins to learn how to fight on the inside. With his handspeed he'd be well served to learn the finite points of in-fighting...obviously he isn't learning it from Roach.

    Pathetic.

I do love the fact boxing is doing well in the UK at the moment, but UK boxing journalists make me sick, it's fucking shameful.

Every single one of them is biased as fuck.

You would expect better from an apparently reputable paper like the Independent.

That's insane. Khan is born to skate and flurry. He'll never be an infighter and never have good defense, however many years he was taught by someone like Bernard. It's just not part of his makeup as a boxer, or even his physical attributes.

It would be like trying to turn Kirkland into Pernell Whitaker, it's just not going to happen, however hard you try.

You better stay away from the Guardian then mate. When Haye lost to Wlad they printed one story, and that was an attack on Dan Rafael. This time they've got at least 5, and some video too.:notallthere:

What strikes me now that I look back at it how he stood in front of guys and landed clean, effective powershots.

He'd have taken Maidana out in easier fashion.

The absence of this furious, kitten-fisted flurrying is refreshing.

It's just clean, accurate, hurtful powershots.

I'm just saying...at least he would learn something about defense...perhaps not how to execute but he'd learn. As it stands now..he's got a short shelf life and is in for a few bad beatings before he's done.

Fair enough Musze, he would probably learn something about defense I agree, but he'll never be a real thinking fighter or "boxer". I mean yeah, it would probably lengthen his shelf life, but at the same time, it would not play to his strengths. He'd probably be less effective overall, than his current Skate 'N' Flurry boxbot routine.

Freddie at least plays to his strengths, even if that does mean he's sorely lacking in other areas.

Khan is like a fish out of water inside, and it's hard to imagine him getting much better defensively.

To put it simply Musze, I think it's asking too much.

I try to stay away from it all actually. I used to read boxing monthly just as something to read, but these days I just like to watch boxing and talk to you guys, I don't read any articles at all.

Graham Houston is OK....I rarely have a serious beef with him.

Why oh why do NONE of these guys mention the uppercut Khan threw off the break in the 12th??

This makes Khan look like a big idiot, wasn't he just telling Manny to retire because of the close fight with JMM, who is fucking worlds better than Lamont Peterson. Haha
