Khan beat Kotelnik (not a hard puncher) and MAB. So I don't see how he can lose to Maidana. Ha ha.

Mayweather would toy with Amir, he should shut up there.

    Same here.

I expect Peterson to be more active and relaxed, getting more rounds.

agree, I think Ortiz only looks good when he has a willing target in front of him, especially if the willing target can't punch very hard... against a guy who isn't going to be that easy to tag, I think his questionable committment comes into effect and frustration sets in... I like Peterson for sure in this one

Maybe he would, but I don't think he should get shit for wanting to face him

People gave Calzaghe shit for staying at home and not taking challenges, yet Khan is fighting in Vegas against a guy everyone said he wouldn't fight and talking about fighting the best out there, yet he's called a fraud. It's ridiculous

This isn't about wanting to face Mayweather.

This is about a dude acting like a school girl.

    "Floyd blanked on me Twitter":crying:

And the only reason Khan is facing Maidana is and ONLY because Maidana forced the WBA's hand and gave Khan no choice but to fight Maidana or be stripped of the title. And if Khan would have take that route, even in his little mind he knows that he would basically become a joke.

Basically, he's fighting Maidana because he has no choice. His first choice was Marquez who said "No" and then he was pressured to defend against his MANDATORY..

He can either face Maidana or get stripped of his belt. Simple.

It's called hype, it happens quite a bit in boxing.

And no, the fact is he was asked if he was going to fight Maidana, his response was "I want to fight Maidana next". Guess who he's fighting next. Still people want to find issue with it, it's crazy.

The ONLY reason Marquez was mentioned was because Maidana had an injury. Let's be honest here also, if he HAD gone through with the Marquez fight would it really have been so bad? The best lightweight in the world? The guy people want to see face the p4p #1 for a third time? If Bradley or Alexander had agreed to fight Marquez I bet you they would get hardly any of the shit Khan would undoubtedly have got.

Khan by Decision....first I can't or don't want to believe his CHIN is as bad as he show against Prescott. Working w/ Roach can only be a positive, Roach will build a perfect fight plan for Khan to execute. Boxing, turning and clinching when he has to...Maidana is a hard puncher, fun to watch, but he is average. Before getting w/ Roach I would have picked Maidana, but Khan will fight smart, scared and will win...

Peterson by Decision or late TKO...why? All the reason given on this thread. Ortiz is yet to fight a decent boxer..and Peterson is that guy. In all his fights Ortiz was going punch for punch w/ the other guy or just fucking them up...how will he react to his out-landing him 2-1, 3-1 and making him miss?

I'm surprised Hex didn't post Dwyer's prediction on this fight. He just compared Kotelnik to Marlon Starling.

It actually looks like someone has just cum on his nose, and he's slurping a bit of excess man juice off the balls.

    Khan by UD!

I think he will play it safe and jab the shit out of Maidana most of the fight to keep him at bay. I will be surprised if he trades. Unless he dominates most of the fight he might try towards the end. If he gets that confident.

I'm really surprised at how many have faith in Khan's ability - as if he's proven himself already. If he beats Maidaina, he'll have proved something. Until then, he's proven only that he can use his height effectively against the likes of Kotelnik and Malignaggi.

Though Khan is the SUPERIOR Fighter in just about Every Capacity, REED CANNOT Overlook the Sheer CHINA QUALITY of his Chin...There's a REASON Khan HASN'T Faced a Big Puncher Since Breidis Prescott...If NATHAN Else, Maidana is a Puncher Too...He's Also Determined & Not Easily Discouraged...Khan's Superior Skillset will Pile Up Round After Round but @ SOME Point, he's Gonna Get Clocked, Hurt & FINISHED...REED Isn't Sure of the Round, but he just CAN'T Fathom Khan Going an ENTIRE Fight w/Out "Feeling" Maidana's Punch...& When Khan "Feels" that Punch, he's TOAST...

Ortiz-Peterson is Almost a 'Make or Break' Fight for BOTH of them...Like it or Not, 1 or 2 Losses Basically ENDS Careers in Today's Boxing World...The LOSER of this Fight will have his 2nd Loss...As Such, REED is Expecting a Level of DESPERATION from Both Combatants, which will Make for an Entertaining Fight...Ortiz is Much More DYNAMIC, but Peterson is More STURDY...NEITHER Man has Responded to Mid-Fight Adversity All that Well, so a Fast Start is IMPERATIVE...@ the End of the Day, REED Doesn't Think Peterson has the POWER to Discourage Ortiz, so REED likes Ortiz by UD...

As for the Showtime Bouts, REED's Rolling w/Abner Mares & Joseph Agbeko...RIDICULOUS Night of Fights, Boys & Girls!!!...

I'm nervous for Khan, but, I believe he'll get the job done. He's going to have to go through some tough stages during this fight, that's for sure, but will come out on top and prove alot of people wrong.

That, for me, is a largely comprehensive review of the fight, but it omits two factors

    1. That Maidana himself can be found and hurt, as Ortiz showed.

    2. That Khan is, in this fight, the very very epitome of a House fighter, and will be protected accordingly.

Khan stops Maidana in three rounds or less.

Ortiz stops Peterson in seven rounds.

Guzman is probably better than any of these guys, IMO. The most underrated guy in the sport (though he'd brought it on himself).
