for all the bitching Barrera did about Golden Boy he was better off than with Don King.

The last fight with Goldenboy was the Pacquiao rematch on ppv with a decent payday.

With King he has had two fights against scrubs in the middle of nowhere all to lead up to a fight against Amir Khan? :dunno:

He also signed a 5 year contract with Don King. I still don't get the logic behind that. :bangh:

Amir Khan's lightweight bout with Marco Antonio Barrera will go ahead on 14 March as planned after a medical examination confirmed the Mexican will be fit to box. The fight had appeared to have been in doubt when Barrera suffered a cut above his left eye against Freudis Rojas last Saturday.
However, Khan's promoter, Frank Warren, said his counterpart Don King had confirmed the former world champion at three weights had been cleared to go ahead with the bout following a "thorough medical examination".
"It's a great relief to finally get confirmation that Barrera will be ready for 14 March," said Warren, with 15,000 tickets already sold for the bout at Manchester's MEN Arena. "Sometimes these problems happens in boxing and you have to get through them, but I'm delighted that the fight is on and now we can get back to business and sell the remaining tickets for what will be a great fight."
Khan, who is at training camp in Los Angeles with coach Freddie Roach, added: "It was a worrying few days but it's great news to hear that it's still on the original date. I was never worried that the fight wouldn't happen, at the worst it would have been delayed by a couple of weeks, but now my team are all geared up and ready. My training camp is going absolutely fantastic and I will be in the best shape of my life come fight night."
Barrera had been facing Rojas in a warm-up bout in Mexico in which he was head-butted and cut in the third round by the Cuban, who was then disqualified.
