It really wasn't. It was an incredibly easy fight to score. My card was posted here in the aftermath of the fight and IIRC there was not a single hard round to score. Khan won by a point, even if you (rightly) gave Maidana a 10-8 for the round he had Khan running for his life.

The point is that championship fights last 12 rounds, not three or four. Maidana battered Khan in r.10-12 but he lost the majority of the other nine. Ergo, he lost the fight. Ward kicked the shit out of the farmer for seven rounds but he lost at least three of the last four as Froch pressured him late. Ergo, Ward won the fight.

That's the comparison.
