<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/z8AQWLSTSSI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Couple notes 1. Kid took a dive. I wonder how much they payed him. 2. Fightnews says the fight was 1:52 long. All the clips I found on youtube are of the last 10 seconds which suggests to me the clips are made/distributed by Kimbo people and they don't wanna show more than that because Kimbo really really really sucks. 3. Kimbo looks fat, slow, old, very hittable, tired. Like I said it will be miracle if he even makes it to 5-0 with dives and bums and all but he will NEVER make it to 10-0. 4. Somebody should seriously investigate these Kimbo fights. They're making a mockery of the sport.
Here's the problem, when the biggest broadcaster in boxing is basically hosting fixed fights, and talking through them as if they were above-board, its hard to tell people like Kimbo that they can't cash in too. Where do you draw the line? If HBO can engage in it, why can't Kimbo?? Apart from the rest, its pretty true. Kimbo looks jaded, he seems smaller than he looks in those youtube videos. He could himself yet be a highlight reel KO in the making.
I'm confused as to why you are,.. dissapointed by big business?.. 'DRAAAAAAAAAAAINAAAAAGEEEEEEE' :scared: ,..it could be time to stop being so, and I quote ...'pro-american',... another aneurism of mine..:nono:
I'm not disappointed. If anything, its become stultifyingly boring and repetitive. And new-fangled inventions like "functional weight advantages" and the like really don't swing it for me. What ever happened to fighting on with dem shoulder injuries, eh????:scratcher:
It's natural Irishman,.. the more those voracious cronies tear down regulation, the more viciously aggressive their business becomes, like a serial-killer ritual,.. more stabs and macabre acts are required to excite them after a stretch,.. this is all part of the collapse of the stock markets but the great thing is,.. we're going to steal the fruit of thier labors,.. again, and again and again...you fruit-bat
Honestly, looks like a dive to me. I mean he is a cruiserweight who wears glasses and is 2-3 so it's not out of the realm of possibility that it was a legit KO, but that didn't even seem to have much meat on it to produce such a dramatic KO.
Of course its a dive. Kimbos bread-and-butter is the freak factor, the wow-factor, namely the fast, early, highlight-reel KO. Any laborious performances make him just another heavyweight trying to get by, and thats not his ticket. It might not be a dive in the traditional sense that the kid was paid extra to fall over, rather they just get a guy who is so innately rubbish that this is the end result. It truly is amazing the appetite America has for shite, as long as it is brutal and violent. Over here, Kimbo would be forced to fight guys who could fight back.
That was the entire fight, baby, you see, you need to be understandin, Kimbo don't need no long-ass shit??? Kimbo knocked him out didn't he? This ain't Lawrence of Arabia, baby, this ain't no 4 hour Matinee, this ain't no Counselor Shivago, yo.......BAM! BAM! BANG!
yeah, Americans are really hyped up about Kimbo the boxer... the fuck? "over here" in the vast network of competence that is the IRELAND BOXING SCENE, there are dozens of skillful, grizzled veterans waiting to test the latest up and comer gimme a break
Over here, street brawlers and bare-knuckle heros like John Fury who had pro licences weren't given free rides, they were forced into fights vs the likes of Henry Akinwande etc. Kimbo is a minor celebrity in certain circles. As I say, over here, he would be forced to take his chances vs bigger, equally skilled guys.
This guys Tay Bledsoe is just THAT bad. He record was 2-3, he's a cruiser weight, he weighed 206lbs, and now he has been knocked out 4 times in a row. The guy is just plain bad.
Okay then. Equal stature or reputation. Bottom line is that Kimbo can effectively become a "Pro Boxer", earn a lot of money yet never be forced, financially or talent-wise, to take on somebody "Live". Over in the UK, and Ireland, you can be the greatest back-yard brawler of all time, but there is no bubble for that within the pro ranks. You are forced to match up with and fight better guys. Is Kimbo likely to be facing anyone with the remotest chance of beating him anytime soon? No. He's going to continue to be a "pro" but he's just "playing" pro boxing.
And no one with any interest in real boxing will be taking him seriously at all, it's not a big deal at all
Oh, I agree, but should this clown be even allowed in to begin with? Somebody is profiting, surely. I mean, Kimbo can fight in a yard, but he can't fight in my yard. I'd really rather this garage-freak {no not you!} didn't have a pro licence....its an invitation for all sorts of Toughman, Butterbean BS.
Of course, correct, but let's look at it this way: Butterbean is a sideshow and always was... I can think of no better deflating of the Kimbo "legend" than to be seen in the same light
I think the so called Kimbo legend and hype got deflated a good while back. He'd have to go back online and have some more backyard brawls to get himself back on the hype wagon the way he was before and honestly I'm not sure if he'd even win those backyard brawls these days. People think Kimbo was a complete joke, but he did beat a washed up Tank Abbott who landed good shots on Kimbo with no effect. I think Kimbo just go old over night because he started out very old anyway. I'm not saying he would have been a top fighter but I think how crappy he looked in his last couple of fights was more about age catching up with him more then it meaning he was a complete and utter bum. Obviously he should have started with boxing from the onset, but that's a whole other argument.
There were a sizeable number of jackasses here who once said things like "he would easily take out Chris Byrd in the street" Chris Byrd would have one punched this clown
Finally found the entire Kimbo fight <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/OSQrRgFSqqc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Thanks for posting Boss. I have to retract my earlier, sarcastic comments. Now that I've seen the entire fight, I have to admit that Whiskey was correct. Kimbo set this poor kid up with a full minute of feints and painful body work. He never saw that huge, amnesia-inducing overhand right coming. Get on board.
