I've seen him fight before, including that fight.

And Rahman was determined to be the highest ranked available contender.

Dimitrenko isn't THAT bad. He's a better fighter than a number of other ranked heavies.

ruiz would fight everybody anywhere, and while he was far less talented than Wlad, he alway's went out there and gave his 100% the lone exception being the Jones fight where he was going through a nasty divorce and had to deal with Nady overofficiating. While he was champ he kept on calling for unification but was constantly avoided. No way in hell that Wlad figts even this version of Ruiz, after seeing him push Valuev and Chagaev to the limit and making them suffer for 12 rounds. Wlad want safe fight vs guy that will fight at his rythm and who won't push him too hard, Ruiz, wether he'd win or not, wouldn't certainly fall in the Ibragimov or THompson pattern of doing nothing but trying to survive. I'd take an underachiever who break down his opponenet with his will power and determination any day of the week over a talented phenom who do strictly the minimum and avoid contact at all cost.

Of course you would rather see him fight Dimitrenko, this way he'd have another easy defense where he's not push and would look ''unbeatable''. I like you M.K., but trying to pass the Rahman fight as nothing more than shameless opportunism reaks of bias and nuthugerry. So what if he was the highest avalable contender to one of his numerous belts, Wlad's supposed to be the best guy out there, wich means he got to face the top guys in the division, not too much to ask especially considering the sad state of the division. The Rahman fight was a sham, his last few performances were pathetic and he quit vs a fat, old shot midget in his last fight. The only reasons it was made was because the Klitshko's thought a Wlad ko would reedeem Vitaly running away from Rahman when he was still revelant a few years back, no surprise that only minutes after the fight Vitaly was already saying thing as " tonight showed what would have happenned if I hadn't got "injured" a few years ago".

BTW, I have never seen DImentrenko fight so I may be way off base here, but pretty much everyone who's opinion I respect calls him a protected joke

"Today Wladimir showed Rahman everything that I would have done. When I damaged my knee and couldn't box with him, the American boxer spoke bad about me to journalists. Wladimir has avenged that for me."

    :doh::doh::shit::shit:

And I called that would be the spin as soon as the fight was announced.

I never considered it much of a fight, or Rahman much of a contender. He wasn't even good for a late replacement....but he was a late replacement.

I wanted to see Klitschko fight Povetkin, I think that's a real heavyweight fight.

Rahman, like Toney, should be an afterthought...and frankly, Kellerman was being absurd by saying about Rahman "on his best night, maybe top ten".

I listed fighters I would like to see him fight next year. Povetkin, Dimitrenko, Haye, Chagaev/Valuev, Gomez.

I like the Wlad-Povetkin fight a lot too, but to be honest, Povetkin kind of fall in line with the "skilled but punchless" type of fighter that Wlad eats up, and I'm not sure Potvetkin has the internal fortitude to make a fight out of it.

Wlad should have picked Toney. I would love to see the Brother's K fight JT. That is all that is left for JT. Some shit talk and getting stopped.

Perhaps, but I think he clearly beats the flavors of the month like Haye and Arreola.

Seriously, though, I'd really worry about Toney's health if ever fought one of them.

Perhaps Toney knows that. Maybe that's why he opted to fight Samuel Peter instead.

He doesn't have much choice. Losing to a shitbag like Fres Oquedo means he is done. He could make a few millions in German fighting Wlad. I would worry if he fought vitali who would kill him. Wlad is a pussy. He could go to Germany, wear the star of David, call Germans Nazi's and then get kayoed. It is his only option. He'd lose to that glorified Club fighter, Chris \"the Matinee Idol"Arreola.

I think Toney's days of million dollar paydays are over.

They should offer to pay for air fare and one night in a hotel or hospital, Toney's choice, tell him to take it or leave it.

Anyone catch Lewis taking a shot at Wlad?

"This is the fifth round and Wladimir still has Rahman in there. I took out Rahman in the 4th, and that was Rahman at his best. Now, Rahman is at his worst."

I guess he couldn't take the comparisons anymore.

Yeah, I thought that was interesting, but really, it seems to me like Lampley brings them up more than anybody.

Even most of those who bring up the similarities consider Lewis better...much better.

I like Lewis a lot and Wlad not so much, but considering he was knocked the fuck out by Rahman in their 1st fight he should really have stfu.

    I don't get it.
Wasn't that Wlad-Rahman I that Lewis was commenting on?

Yeah, but he could also say "...by this time I'd already found a way out of the Toney rematch".
