I, who was once Roy's biggest fan, almost hate his guts now for destroying his legacy by fighting on so long and PUSSYING his way out of fights like he did against Calzaghe, HJohnson and the third Tarver fight.

When Roy was stll prime and had all teh talent in the world he should have fought teh Calzaghe's, Hopkins, Jirov's etc....but he chooses to fight them all now that he's got no heart or resilience.

He flat out quit against Glen Johnson.

The worst one yet was against Tarver in the third fight. Roy was actually celebrating the fact that he lasted the distance. What a cunt!

Roy showed in that fight that he could win...and he didn't even try to win because he was scared to get knocked out in the process. The cunt lost a wide decision that he could have won and was happier at the end of the fight than tarver was.

Compare that to Holyfield against Bowe in their first fight when Bowe was winning hadily and almost stoped Evenader yet "the Real Deal" kept trying to win the fight all teh way to teh final bell. now THAT'S heart. not this roy jones chicken shit.

Same with the Calzaghe fight. Roy just gave up and wanted to survive.

i still maintain that in his prime Roy was perhaps the best fighter who ever lived...but I have no respect for cowardly chumps.

I was a fan of Tyson all the way through..even when he lost to Evander Twice, Lennox, That English dude, that tall white dude etc. Never lost my fandom for Tyson.

It's about not being a blind fanatic. It's about being able to recognize fault as well as achievement.

Tito proved too many times that he's a mental midget. He doesn't know how to adjust mid fight. I am still a fan but his fight against Wright pissed me off. he kept doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different reasult.

Jones...on the other hand proved to be a pussy. Why should I support his cowardly antics just because I'm a fan of his talent?

Yes..I'm disgusted with Roy Jones' lack of heart..and by that I mean...lack of teh will to win a fight. he seems to rather last the distance than try to win and risk getting koed.

Someone with that mentality should have simply retired and spared his fans from seeing his legacy crumble fight after fight.

he never displayed a lack of heart then. It has only become eveident since he lost his speed and reflexes (and punch resistance).

People were just complaining that he ducked teh big challenges...but he was never in a position where his heart was in question in a fight.

 

He carried guys he could've KO'd in the first round, he was on record saying he hated boxing and didn't wanna hurt anyone or get hurt. There was always bitch in him, as "haters" always pointed out.

Sometimes you can see things for what they are, for example, Floyd is intimidated by Pacquiao, thats why he brought up extra stipulations. Similar circumstances.

 

Anyone else remember when Roy was a great boxer and not a sideshow? Just retire already.

Sly, I have to take issue with your stance on Roy. He's past it and has been for some time yet is still taking on challenges. I can't call someone like that heartless. I just wish he had this mentality when it mattered: the peak of his career.
