lets face it, if lomapacquiao didnt go into the fight with a bum shoulder and then aggravate that injury in round 2, he woulda won in a whitewash!
I can't really blame Teo to go on to bigger and better thing. Loma pretty much blew his opportunity by fighting so negatively for half of the fight. He doesn't really deserves a rematch
In Loma's Facebook there's a picture of him in the hospital and the history of his shoulder injury, which sounded pretty severe and needed treatment during his camp. No fighter is ever 100% healthy but that might explain some of his passivity in the fight. Props to him also for not making excuses
What I meant was, he didn't mention them immediately after the fight (that I would know about). Telling what he is going to do next (get treatment for the shoulder) doesn't mean making excuses, imo
That actually sucks... I never knew Loma had the injury during this time. What an warrior to suck up the pain and make no excuses!
you whites need to stop making excuses for the cowardly actions of lomachenko. he basically ruined what was going to be an epic night of boxing, viewed by the entire world, with his complete and voluntary futility in the first half of the fight.
Loma would beat him in a rematch. If he didn't give away the first half he wins. Whenever he went for it he got the better of it aside from round 12. Lopez is nothing special.
Pretty sure I know TR's plan for Lopez's next opponent. Just announced that Felix Verdejo will fight Commey on the Berchelt-Valdez undercard (great card!) If Verdejo wins (BIG if, cause Verdejo sucks) then count on TR to make Lopez vs Verdejo.
If Loma really went in with a bum shoulder, that's his problem, and I won't give him that excuse for his putrid performance in the first half of the fight
This. AND the fucker said before the fight that this was the first time in a long time he felt 100% healthy. Bottom line, if you're injured, postpone the fuckin fight. Simple as that. Not Fimo's problem. Between this bullshit excuse, and the arrogance of not having a clause in place, he doesn't deserve a rematch. Fuck Loma. He has a very entitled personality.
Looks like TR finally realizes that Verdejo is never, ever gonna be Trinidad or Cotto, and it's time to cash him out. I do think if he wins he'll get matched with Fimo - whether that's at 135, or they make Verdejo fight him at 140. If Commey splatters him, they'll find another next opponent for Fimo. At 140, they might feed Arnold Barboza to Lopez. Fimo would kill that MF.
I don't care what he said. Fighters nearly always say they feel fine, training camp went awesome etc. I completely agree he should have postponed the fight if he had an injury serious enough though. It's not like Lopez put him in some kind of armbar, dislocated his shoulder and the ref said fight on. The decision was entirely on him and he has to live with the consequences. If Lopez had an injury it would be the same thing. Too bad.
Ivan Redkach said on Twitter that he hates Loma as a person, even though he respects him as a fighter, and that many in the Ukraine hate him as a person. He wrote hashtag, #karmabitch. Further confirming that Loma is an entitled/arrogant guy.
Lomachenko is an asshole. He's always mocking overmatched foes Now he got his comeuppance all these whites here want to make excuses for him
I got banned from Eastside for a week. They said it's because I violated the language filter, but that's total horseshit. I got banned for mocking the 75,000 Loma groupies on there. They have no idea what to do w/themselves after Saturday. One of them JUST posted last week, "Is Loma close to surpassing Floyd?"
I totally agree with the principle. Once you get in the ring, you forfeit the right to have excuses. Just that in here it didn't sound to me like he was making an excuse, he just updated his whereabouts. As you said, it is none of Fimo's problem and nothing away from him
Agreed with this too. I wouldn't expect a fighter go "My right shoulder is fucked, I can't punch properly, I just hope my opponent doesn't attack from that side" right before a fight
You tend to hear about it more in other sports. Most boxers, even on a championship level, are cool, grounded guys. Even the ones who put on an act to sell fights. Arrogant pricks like Floyd, Loma, Canelo, and Wilder are the exception, not the rule.
I think I disagree. Sure, there are several genuine cool guys in boxing too, but while it's true that some put on an act to sell a fight, others put on an act of being humble, even when they are not. Guys like Lennox, Oscar, Shane etc seem like modest guys on surface but are known to be dickish in reality. Also, some of the boxing's humble guys are more stupid than anything else. Holyfield being the prime example. As said, there are real down to earth guys in boxing, but often that attitude won't take you very far in a trade where only one can win
