Nice. Glad Rigo came in a little lighter than the limit. He's going to need his speed and stamina in this one.

Rigondeaux Fights are Boring When his Opponent has Been TAMED and Refuses to LEAD...Rigondeaux Himself is STUBBORN As Fuck and Flat Out WILL NOT Lead, Ever...

Though Capable of Counterpunching QUITE Well, Lomachenko has NOfuckingPROBLEM Leading....

For loma to give himself the best chance of victory he has to attempt to force rigo to lead. If loma is the aggressor, he will have some success early, but methinks rigo will figure him out eventually and time him...may even score a flash KD here and there.

In analyzing this fight it's very possible that we could see a styles mismatch in favour of Rigo. Lomachenko's defense is predicated upon his stepping around guys. Now...he invariably steps around his opponents to his right. It's like muscle memory for him. The thing is though that most of his opponents are orthodox fighters. Stepping to his right (and their left) is moving away from their power hand. Against Rigo, if he does this he walks into the power hand. Now I'm sure his trainer will be preparing him to fight a fellow southpaw, but muscle memory is one hell of a thing and also, with that tactic compromised he may be much easier to hit than usual. Rigo's defense is NOT dependent on using his legs and stepping around...it's all about anticipation and bending at the waist and fast fluid upper body movement. SO fighting a fellow southpaw may not be as much of a problem for him. Both men have fought southpaws before...and when southpaws fight each other it usually becomes a jab contest. IN such a contest I'd favour Rigo to be honest. Something to watch out for.

They have both seen plenty of southpaws in their careers. I don’t think this will come down to Loma being stumped due to muscle memory.

The point of comparison was about two highly skilled, smaller man moving up two weight visions, bigger more celebrated man expected to win but will not. How famous each one is to the mainstream wasn't my point...but to those of us that know who these guys are.....

It's definitely offense vs defense here.

Loma has good defense, but he's hittable. And it will be key for Rigo to capitalize on the openings Loma will leave to get respect. If Rigo cannot do that, he loses this fight.

I think there are legit questions for both guys. The winner should definitely be pound 4 pound number 1.

Typically in these types of matchups the defensive fighter wins. They make their opponent over think way too much. When they get tagged good it only gets worse. That's not to say the more offensive fighter has to go balls to wall throwing a million punches, but they have to be the more active guy. If Loma starts getting into too much of a low output feinting contest it will play right into Rigo's hands.

How you watch "MINDS"? LOL And Rigo has a track record of stinking the joint in boring matches. This could be another one.

Surprised at all the Gondo picks, contrary to Chenko being a 3 to 1 favourite.

Those odds do seem a little off though, I said that when the fight was announced.

Chenko is bigger and younger, I guess that's what it comes down to - but damn, they are both amazing fighters so nothing would surprise me here. Seems close to a pick em.

I'll go with Lomachenko by close decision.

Ironically I think for Rigo to win he needs to go right at Lomachenko. Loma's face marks up easily. Make it harder for Loma to see the left hand.

Punch stats show that on average Rigo gets hit with 5 punches per round and Loma gets hit with 7 punches per round.

Loma's defence is pretty much as good as Rigondaux's, considering opposition faced and he is being aggressive; compared to Rigo looking to counter.
