Walters wasn't some well past it guy who needed to pay off some debts or pad his retirement fund. If this was a "cash-out" fight some of that cash should be returned to people who paid to see it.

I'm going to pull a Manny Steward here (and I'm not known for it.) When that last round ended and Lomachenko was peppering him and circling him, I went for a piss. I was thinking to myself "I wouldn't be surprised if Walters quits now or in the next round." By the time I came back it was over. So I can't say I was shocked that he quit. Something about his body language that last minute. He had the "fuck this shit" look on his face too.

What really sucks about this is Lomachenko's performance will completely overshadowed by Walter's quit job. Loma was brilliant.

Let's just see Loma-Crawford. Give Loma like 2 fights at 140 to adjust to the weight and let's see it next fall.

He has no comp at 130-135 and TC has no comp at 140.

This fight kinda reminded me of prime Whitaker's masterclass clinic on Rafael Pineda.

Pineda actually took a lot MORE punishment than Walters, and was dropped by a body shot.... yet still didn't quit.

Shame on Walters for bitching out, especially when he carries that big equalizer.

However, huge props to Lomachenko, who is a maestro in that ring. The guy is truly special. Its like the guy was born with a pair of boxing gloves on. He will be #1 pfp in no time.

Yes, Lomachenko was ultra impressive. He completely took away the right hand of Walters. It's one think to make a guy miss with it for 12 rounds but it's another to convey a "Don't even fucking think about it" message early on in the fight and Walters instead tried to use the left to the body. I can't wait to see him fight again. He wants Vargas next. The guy who beat the guy who beat him.

Would Tony Bellew show more heart against David Haye than Walters did against Loma?

I've considered Lomachenko the best fighter in the world for a while now, the dude is an incredible fighter. This will obviously be overshadowed by Walter's quit job, but where do people see Loma in the p4p lists?

Walters was looking somewhat helpless in his corner after two rounds. It seemed that for the first time in his life he was in a situation he couldn't do anything to his opponent and he couldn't handle that feeling, at all. When Loma turned up the heat in the last round, he wanted out.

That being said, I have always said I don't have THAT big of a problem with quitting as most here do. We saw the fight, we saw the outcome that left no questions. What we missed was Loma ripping his face to pieces, but I can live with that. I realize I am pretty much the only one who sees it this way, though.

As for Loma, he was indeed brilliant in there. His balance is superb. I know it is a blasphemy to compare any recent fighter to Pernell and Pep, but Lomachenko looks to be in their class, and the comparisons between Loma and Floyd are not as far-fetched, either

Excellent performance from Loma. Pure class. Walters did indeed quit like a bitch. Surely down to frustration and not believing he could win the fight. Loma-Crawford in the not so distant future is definitely one fight I want to see.

Lomachenko is considerably better than Crawford but I don't think he's big enough to win at Super lightweight.

Lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia or Gamboa at 135lbs are the fights I'd love to see

He's in Whitaker's class and Floyd isn't far fetched? Well, to start.... prime Whitaker was a higher class than Floyd's overrated ass.

Loma is an EXCELLENT fighter and a wonderful talent, but everybody needs to chill. Whitaker is one of the top 10-15 best fighters who ever lived. Loma has a WAAAYYSS to go to prove he's on that level.

However, it is safe to say that he's the best/most talented junior lightweight SINCE Floyd left the division 14-15 years ago.

Would I pick Loma over the 130 Floyd? Probably not.

This is why I said Loma LOOKS to be on their level, it is obvious he isn't nearly proven enough.

Also, I thought Floyd was at Pernell's level in his prime

Lomachenko is more skilled and complete than either Ward or Kovalev IMO.

    Probably????

I think Floyd was clearly better and I would definitively pick him over Loma

It would be a great fight to be honest. I'll go with Floyd as he has the CV at this stage obviously, but it would be a great match for the purist. Skillwise I don't see anything Floyd does "clearly" better. Physical attributes like power I'll give you.
