I think mayweather landed a record low no. of punches on pacquiao. But I think reverse w4as true too.
Manny should try worshipping Satan before the rematch. Come out with a dismembered goat and a black-robed crew.
Manny may be too nice these days, but Floyd was more negative than ever on Saturday. I think Pac hurt him worse than he hurt Pac. And any THREAT of an exchange of punches resulted in either a clinch or Floyd FRANTICALLY moving away. Pac can't beat him in that type of fight because Floyd is taller and rangier. He has to get inside to have a chance. If anything, I think Manny was bored with Floyd's tactics in the ring.
What he's really saying, is that we're a bit more enlightened now than in years gone by, where in general, we were maybe more inclined to show respect for beliefs based on how deeply they were held, rather than evaluate them based on how much sense they did or did not make.
Respect for beliefs these days is based on how many other people share your fantasy, and depending where you are, on how they vote or how likely they are to run a knob of semtex up their bum and get on a bus.
I agree, it is still largely that way. I do think the trend is overall (although slowly, and more in some (more "westernised") places than others) moving towards a focus on "beliefs" that are rationally defensible. "P.C" (the avoidance of forms of expression or action that are perceived to exclude, marginalize, or insult groups of people who are socially disadvantaged or discriminated against.-(Thanks google)), in the context of this conversation, is more a kind of moral relativism, whereby it is taboo to question, or say anything negative about another's belief, no matter how absurd the belief is, for fear of offending. "offense taking' becomes criticism immunisation. Evaluting reasons becomes subordinate to respecting beliefs. Saying "fuck Jesus" may be be more acceptable now that it was years ago, but is anything but "P.C". That's simply an illegitimate reinterpretation of the term. It is however, very rude & disrespectful (which is shocking on this message-board-We really should learn not to insult groups of people here).
