Pacquiao's "string of recent victories" are all against strategically chosen opponents. He ducked the rubbermatch with Marquez at 135 for a reason, then took it at 147 because he thought Marquez would be a soft touch at that weight/age.

I don't take it as a slight against Floyd. I take it as yet another excuse being made for Pacquiao. JMM doesn't somehow magically just "have his number" or anything; he's just a very good fighter, one who knows how to throw a right hand and who can counterpunch. And Floyd Mayweather Jr can do both of those things better than JMM can.

mayweather jr. should concentrate on legacy enhancing victories vs khan and bradley. pacquiao has caused the luster to dissipate from their match

He was on his way to beating the shit outta Ortiz, before Vic headbutted him.

Make no mistake though, without the controversial ending, Mayweather-Ortiz was turning into a brutal ass whuppin within a few rounds. It was very apparent.

Ortiz couldnt avoid Floyd's right hand to save his life. And neither will Manny.

I think the main thing to take from this is that Floyd robbed us all of a potentially great fight when it could have been a great fight.

Boxing needs to be sorted out and the only thing that can sort it out is COMPETITION. The sport needs to be more COMPETITIVE, internally. We need more fighters with better representation, not this shallow, jaded handful of guys.

    Should be fun.

I see that Marquez, he of the receding hairline, was rocking a luxuriant mop last night too.

This doesn't really change anything in terms of PBF vs manny... Marquez simply has his number.. Floyd didn't look great against The much smaller Marquez

True. Also, Manny should have a similar training camp that changes his profile as a fighter completely

I agree. Styles make fights and PBF would be a nightmare for Manny. Only X-Factor here is the southpaw jinx. I can see a scary moment for PBF early if they fight, but once Floyd makes the adjustment it would be complete DOMINANCE.

    Pacquiao-Marquez III: No closure
    By Graham Houston

One felt a sense of disappointment over Manny Pacquiao’s performance against Juan Manuel Marquez on Saturday night, a feeling that the Filipino superstar should have done better. In a fight where finality was expected, a sense of closure, Pacquiao once again had to settle for a decision that divided the judges and was open to debate. It could be that Marquez has the sort of style that will always trouble Pacquiao, the way that Ken Norton pushed Muhammad Ali to the limit in three fights.

Pac wins 3-4 rounds in a 18-20 foot ring, he gets completely dominated and might quit if Mayweather demands a "clown ring"
