Manny Pacquiao vs Roberto Duran at 135lbs

It's a good match, but at LIghtweight Pacquaio finds out quickly that a prime Duran is light years better than David Diaz. Duran by TKO by around round 10.

 

Would Duran find out that Pacquiao is light years better than Viruet?

And nope, if we are discussing the two fighters at LIGHTWEIGHT (which is the ACTUAL topic) then it only makes sense to bring up Diaz...since he fought Manny at LIGHTWEIGHT (which again...is the topic at hand). It's not really all that hard to understand. But you were too busy trying to make a snarky comeback to get it. Manny won a title belt at LIGHTWEIGHT by beating DIAZ...fighting Duran for the World Championship at LIGHTWEIGHT is an infinitely more difficult fight for Manny. And if you dispute that...you might as well go find yourself a Curling message board to post on.

 

so none of Pacquiao's achievements at 140 or 147 can be taken into account? In assessing his chances at 135 of beating Duran?

And if the topic was comparing the two fighters at 147, Duran's wins over Palomino and Leonard trump Manny's wins over Cotto and Hatton.

 

In all honesty, I doubt there's ever been a MM I haven't picked Duran in. This won't be the first. I think Duran's timing equals Manny's speed and from there he roughs Manny up and just plain out hustles him, though of course it's competitive and close.

And your other comment makes no sense (which is what happens when we favor snark over substance). Duran and Manny were both champs at 135. Duran skipped 140 in search of bigger game at Welterweight after beating DeJesus in their rubber match. I suppose Duran could have cherry picked a title at 140 to fatten his resume like Manny did at 135, but Duran had his eyes on the Welterweight crown and bigger challenges

 

The post no mas Duran could lose to any really good fighter on a given fight. Much like Ali lost to Leon Spinks and (shuda to) Jimmy Young.

At 154lb and above there are allot of guys Id pick over him, even at his very best.
