Ridiculous post. First of all, the fight went three rounds, not two. Also, Hearns hurt Hagler briefly in the first round, but for the most part Hagler walked through Hearns had to offer without difficulty, which continued into the 3rd round.

Robinson by KO before the middle rounds. Folks are getting way to excited about Manny's win over the overrated heavybag Margarito.

Robinson never fought anyone at Welterweight who were in their primes that was remotely as good as Manny Pacquiao..who is still very underrated around here. When has Robinson fought a guy that may be faster than himself? A guy that throws that many punches? A southpaw?

I pick Robinson too for the record (first post was bait), but he's not a lock to win this. Robinson had great physical gifts, but he wasn't the most adaptable fighter in there...he didn't have the ring smarts that his physical gifts would suggest and he wasn't as elusive as his fancy style would suggest.

    Pacquiao would have him HELL!!!

Sugar Ray Robinson the GREATEST WELTERWEIGHT OF ALL TIME...no fucking it's or buts about it...UNDISPUTED the greatest Welterweigh ever....and also consider the greatest boxer of all time...WILL NOT be able to defeat MANNY PACQUIAO at 147....:giggle:...unfucking believable...

Yeah lets just forget that Robinson would have a 4-5" height advantage..5-6" reach advantage over Pac. And will be by FAR the strongest and fastest Welter Pac has ever face....Ohh and he had KNOCKOUT POWER......pretty good defense...and a GRANITE CHIN...MORE STAMINA that PACQUIAO...etc....etc...

YET Floyd Mayweather Jr....he will without a shadow of a doubt beat Manny Pacquiao...:scared:

    The overrating continues.

NO ONE had more stamina than Manny Pacquiao. No one.

As for Floyd beating Pacquiao easier than Robinson would...sure. It's a matter of styles. At 147...I would favour Robinson over Floyd, slightly (size, power advantages), but Floyd would beat Pacquiao more easily simply because he's a smarter fighter than Robinson was with better defense and ring generalship.

only in the mythical land of revisionist thinking can a guy who was 128-1-1 for 12 years become fodder for a guy who's welterweight resume reads like a "who did that used to be?" of names ... its beyond ridiculous

I picked Robinson to win, but hes clearly not the hardest puncher at any weight in history. Probably not even of his era.

I would put Aaron Pryor and Henry Armstrong on such a list without hesitation, you are talking about guys who threw 100 punches a round for 15 rounds, and not Paul Williams punches, HARD punches

Boxing did exist before Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao turned pro, you cant just put them 1 and 2 on every list you can think of because you are hung up on them

    Agreed.

I would also put Mayweather, Hopkins and Pacquiao on that list...even though they are fighters that fought after the year 2000. Fighting in the new millenium doesn't automatically make a crap fighter...like some here seemt o think...

manny has never fought anyone remotely as good at any weight who was as good as Robinson.

Win or lose against Floyd he STILL wouldn't have fought anyone remotely as good as Robinson.

Your commentary on Robinson defies the logic of stupidity. I'm chalking it up to wanting to cause a stir in this thread.
