And also not trivial in the sense he'd be boxing against guys who are themselves 5% bigger. It would seem that some builds, some metabolisms, some training methods, some diets make the down-side of losing an unnatural amount of weight predictably less than the up-side of having a size advantage. My guess is, Lopez's situation was such that he simply wouldn't forego this advantage by moving up.
lopez moved up to 108lbs and dominated every fight in that division. the guy was also 2 or 3 inches taller than johnson. he towered over most of his foes. moving up 2 lbs from there is less than 2% of his body weight.
REED is of the Belief that there's Waaaaaaaay Toooooo MANY Weight Classes....Guys within the Weight Range of Lopez Moved Up MORE than 5lbs, Successfully...Lopez HIMSELF Even Moved Up to 112 & Won a World Title... If 5 lbs is a Guys Reasoning for NOT Facing Another, that's Bullshit... REED:mj:
he went up for a few paydays on some DKP undercards against no hopers. makes you wonder if beristain was managing him also, the way his career went.
