JMM, before he became a big name, was a much more defensive fighter, and almost strictly a counter-puncher.

Against Diaz he was simply trying to make a name for himself by duking it out with Diaz. He could've slipped and countered much more if he'd wanted to, but he wanted to win in impressive fashion so he traded with Diaz all night and obviously got the better of the exchanges.

It wasn't awful, but certainly Marquez was robbed. He schooled the one trick Pony for 95% of that fight.

i have never met an objective fan of neither or both that thought marquez beat pacquiao the first fight.

i had it 6-6 pacquiao live and rewatched it and could see 7-5 marquez but not really. add three knockdowns in and it isnt even close.

if you are not mexican and have that fight anything other than 7-5 AT BEST for marquez...you are an idiot...period.

freddie norwood-jmm was ugly and i dont even care who anyone thinks won.
and chris john-jmm was close as hell, as well pacquiao-jmm 2.

he never really has been outclassed or out of any fight though i will give him that.

I had a great seat for the first marquez pacquiao in row F, and had it a draw. marquez beat norwood, terrible refereeing in that fight. thus, I've yet to see marquez lose a boxing match and I've been to about a dozen of his fights

I'll take the bet, but let me be clear from the outset (in case you decide to start another of your 'hilarious' I told you so threads). I don't think JMM will win. I don't think he can, in fact. But I hate Mayweather so much that I'll take it.

I have said it before and I will say it again. Marquez is arguably the best Mexican fighter ever and yes that includes Chavez and Sanchez. He is a great fighter.

He deserves all the credit in the world for turning 3 knockdowns in a fight into a 12 round decision. However, Marquez got credit for staying up and credit for rounds he didn't win because 3 are lots of Pacman haters no matter what Broadway Joe and his kind think. Pacman has alot of detractors. I disagree with winner on one point. Pacman did outclass and dominate Marquez in the first fight. AWFUL DECISION.

Marquez fans are far and away the most delusional of all current fanboys much like the 3 casapeor fans. If Pacman had "Hattoned" Marquez these losers would say he won. I am not anti-Marquez at all. I am actually a fan and root for him. None of that changes the fact that Pacman dominated him in the first fight and anyone that thinks it was a draw and not a clear win for Pacman and was not a robbery should never score a fight. To me, that's like saying Holy beat Lewis in the first fight and Tito beat DLH and Chavez beat Pea or Byrd really beat Oquendo:lol::lol:It is delusion. You can't give Marquez points because most posters here are of the same sexual persuasion as Marquez and think they have a shot to an all expenses paid erotic date with their hero. For fight fans like me, who are objective scorers, Pac/Marquez was a disgrace and any Marquez Maricon who thinks it is a draw or a inexplicable win for Marquez is a delusional fan boy.
